I walk alone and unnoticed
Like a specter in the night
Shrouded in shadows and mist
Look closely and you may
find me
Clinging to the edges where
the street lamps meet
the darkness
I yearn for something bright
Something warm
My body and eyes ache to be
more than this illusion
Be careful where you tread
These sidewalks and paths I
call my home
Be sure to make it to your door
before these street lights
Call me from the dusk.
