(The Secret Behind the Tesseract)
"Doctor, what do you need me here for?"
Director Fury walks into the laboratory and heads straight to Dr. Erik Selvig. The doctor is working in front of a number of chalkboards and white boards with lots of equations and other inerabble writings for a regular human being.
"Ah, Director Fury!" Dr. Selvig exclaims as he walks to him. "A lot of us may be wondering why the Tesseract did not destroy the whole universe when it exploded."
"Destroy the universe?" the Director repeats. "What do you mean by that?"
Doctor Selvig walks back to the boards followed by the Director. They both turn their heads at the board. Of course, it is only Doctor Selvig that understands its content.
"Thor had smashed his hammer onto the Tesseract, had he not?" utters the doctor. "Well, having his hammer smashed onto it makes sense of why it didn't do such harm. You see, Director, he smashed it by the Bifrost, which is their teleporting device. Theoretically, the hammer had thunder on it as he hit it, causing the Tesseract to stabilize from an explosion."
"How is that so?"
"Well, when I was studying the Tesseract, we stabilized it with over three million joules. An average lightning strike is composed of one million to one billion joules. Therefore, with Thor hitting it with lightning, it allowed it to do only minimal damage."
"Is that all, doctor?"
Selvig nods and adds, "And I heard the Bifrost is getting fixed again."
