Iris sighed as she stared up at the professor. She kept trying to process what was going on but couldn't. She was tired beyond belief, but what was one to expect when they stayed up all night to finish a paper from the evil Professor Slughorn. He had always favored students of his own house, and no matter how high her grades were or how hard she worked, he always assigned the other houses more work than his own. He always found excuses to get the other students in trouble.
"I'm sorry class, but it seems we'll have to pause our lesson because we have a student who isn't paying attention," Professor Slughorn said.
"I'm sorry, but why don't you try staying up all night to write a fifteen inch essay on the negative and positive effects of the love potion with an extra paper filled with illustrations?"
"That doesn't seem like all that much homework," He said as he brushed off that comment of blunt disrespect.
"It is when we have other classes," Iris exclaimed. Her fatigue was replaced with anger and her silver eyes darkened.
"Well how about we take off fifteen points from Ravenclaw because of your little outburst? And then you can give me a twenty inch paper about how you can't control your temper?"
"I have a better idea. I could write a paper as to how annoying it is how you're always favoring your own house! All the students in this room work so hard for their grades, and you give away Os to the Slytherins who don't deserve it! At least writing a paper on your favor for the Slytherin house would be the truth and I could even write thirty inches," Iris shouted. Somewhere in the middle of her rant she had stood up and had her fists banged on the desk like a gorilla.
"Iris, please calm down," Abraxas whispered as he placed a gentle hand on her arm. Her blood was boiling and blood pressure rising so high from her anger she was beginning to feel lightheaded.
"I'm perfectly calm," She shouted.
"I will not tolerate such behavior in my classroom. You can either sit down and do as I say or explain to Headmaster Dippet as to why you were kicked out."
Iris obviously chose the latter. She left the classroom and mocked his voice. Take away fifteen points from Ravenclaw. Why? Because a student finally decided to tell him the truth? It wasn't fair. Abraxas knew it, Tom knew it, Myrtle knew it, Grace knew it. Everybody knew it. She, of course, wasn't shocked when nobody agreed with her or supported her during her outburst in potions. Why would they? So they could go to the Headmaster's office?
Kicking ms imaginary speck of dirt off the floor, she entered Headmaster Dippet's office with her head hung down in shame.
"Child, what have you done now?"
It wasn't her first time being sent to the office, and it surely wouldn't be her last.
"You see, it's not as bad as it sounds. I might've had a slight outburst in potions," she said, ashamed of her behavior. She was normally well behaved, but every now and then, she exploded. A lot of the time she wasn't ill mannered, she just got in trouble for pulling pranks on other students.
"I saw it all, but why? I understand his ways with favoritism, but did you really have to lose your temper?"
"I don't know," She said as she slumped into her chair in a defeated manner. She was ashamed of what she had done, but also felt triumph at how she was the only student that actually had the courage to tell him off. Not very successfully, but had done it nonetheless.
"I'm not going to deny it though, I did find it rather entertaining to see someone attempt to tell him off. I'm not a fan of him," he chuckled.
"Could I go to the dormitories? I'm not feeling very well," Iris said. She wasn't lying, her head was spinning and she was feeling very dizzy.
"Yes, no need to ask. Go to the hospital wing if it gets any worse."
And with that, Iris was off.

Iris was awoken by high pitched squealing and jumping on her bed. She groaned as she opened her eyes.
"You're on the Quidditch team!" Grace squeaked.
"Well that's a surprise." Iris really didn't expect to actually make the team, but she had. And she was happy.
"Aren't you going to go downstairs and run around while gloating?" Elena asked.
"Since when have you been a gloating enthusiast?"
"Since my best friend made the Quidditch team!"
"Let's go tell everyone."
Grace dragged Iris out of her bed and down to the common room. Raising Iris's arm, she exclaimed,"I present to you, your new Ravenclaw seeker."
Iris pulled her hand back and used her hair to cover her face. "If you don't mind, I'd like to change because I feel rather uncomfortable wearing a night gown in front of the whole Ravenclaw house."
Iris ran to her dorm and saw Myrtle on the bed. "Olive?"
Myrtle nodded her head. Iris wasn't very good friends with Myrtle, but her, Elise and Grace were the only ones that actually cared for her. A tiny tear escaped Myrtle's eye and Iris could see how hard she was trying not to cry. She sat down beside her on the bed and pulled her in to her arms. She rubbed her back soothingly and Myrtle cried. Iris knew how hard it was to keep emotions bottled up, and Myrtle didn't like to cry in front of others. But once she was alone, the tears fell like a waterfall.
"Tom was teasing too. He was calling me names like worthless m-m-mudblood," Myrtle managed to say through the hiccups and sobs. "Insulting my parents and everything. Oh it was terrible."
"Did Olive hurt you or touch you?" Myrtle nodded as she raised her shirt to reveal a large blue splotch staining her pale skin. Iris gasped in shock. She wanted to touch it and see if it was okay, but she didn't want to hurt Myrtle. "Does it hurt?"
Myrtle nodded her head slightly. The poor thing couldn't defend herself, and was recieving all this pain and trauma for nothing. What had she done that was so bad that people had to hurt her for it, physically and mentally.
"Want me to talk to them?"
"Please don't."
"But if you are ever crying on my bed with any bruise on your body again, I swear to you Myrtle, they will receive every beating they've ever given you and the emotional trauma they have caused you all at once," Iris promised. "And nothing will be able to stop me."
