Chapter 05
Memories
…”Doctor, tie them down!”- A woman in her thirties shouted at a doctor that was probably around forty, with a white blouse and trousers. He had glasses and raven hair, almost like…
“I can’t! They’re fighting too much!”-He shouted back with such worry in his voice that it gave me creeps.
I then noticed that I had a white bluish gown that reached just under my knees. In my hand I had a gun. I pointed the gun at the doctor, aiming at his head. With a straight shoot I shot him in the head, and blood erupted from the place where I shot.
“Doctor!”-the woman yelled, kneeling down besides the doctor. A shake on my hand made me come back to reality. I snapped my head towards Mason, who had a proud and regretful expression. I could see the pain and anger in his eyes, but they were a blur caused by the regret. My vision was red, and the only thing I could think of is killing these people…
--------------------------
“Brinn! Run!”-Mason yelled while struggling himself from under the big muscled man.
I watched as men from all around came closer while holding their guns in their hands. They were all masked and you would think that they were in the police.
But no.
The police should help the people that were in trouble, saving them from the kidnappers.
In this case, they were the kidnapers.
I could feel the tears starting to blur my vision, though I walked over to the man who held Mason and with a quick snap I pushed him off Mason. I then took Mason’s hand and sprinted towards the woods, leading Mason from behind me.
--------------------------
…”You all know the consequences of running away! I should have known that you’re going to run away, and I expected that, but what I didn’t expect is you Brinn killing the goddamn doctor with a gun! You will be apart from now on while you’re here! Mason, you go with Adrian and you Brinn with Luke. They’ll take you to your new roommates! You will go straight to bed after ten o’clock and no free time in the afternoon! You will help the nurses about the vaccines in for night time.”
-------------------------------
“Dear selected! This is the day that you all have been waiting for! Your gifts have developed, making you stronger. We will now erase every memory of this place and it’ll come back to you when you’re needed. All of you, even if you meet, will not recognize each other. We will now be boarding Jake and Sylvie, Sean and Sammie, Mason and Brinn, Brandon and Lizzie; the others step into the other line! Understood? Good!
-------------------------------
I felt exhausted, mentally and physically, even though I’m sitting down and hugging Mason. My lips felt sore, and dried tears masked my cheeks. Even though I knew I should let go of Mason, it seems like I’ve gone through a state of shock; neither one of my muscles listened to my brain’s command. Mason was whispering comforting words in my ear, but I couldn’t listen to them at all. The only thought that seems to circulate through my mind and somehow control my body was
You have to come
But, the one and only reason why I didn’t get up, let go of Mason and go all psycho about this whole thing was the numbness and the somehow peacefulness in this moment. I know, you’d think how the hell is she even calm, but I feel like some kind of drug invaded my system and kept me calm all this time.
