(Stars POV)
I dashed down the stairs with my wand in hand, a smile on my face.
"Friday!" I exclaimed to Marco, who was making an omelette. He turned to me and smiled.
"Morning Star!" He said cheerily. "Omelette?"
"Sure, thanks!"
As we sat next to each other eating, I noticed Marco seemed a little, different this morning. He was taking some deep breaths, his hands shook a bit, and his forehead was a little sweaty.
"Marco? Are you okay?"
"Wha- what? Oh, y-yeah I'm fine. Just a little sleepy I guess."
"Okay..." I wasn't quite sure that was the case. But, I put it aside and kept eating. After breakfast, we grabbed our bags and went and waited for the bus. It was cold out, and the skirt I wore wasn't very thick. I started to shiver a bit. Marco looked at me.
"Star, are you alright? You cold?"
"N-n-n-ah, M-m-m-marc-c-co! I'm f-fine!" I stammered out, shivering violently now.
"No you aren't." He said. I looked him in the eyes. He looked concerned and worried. I sighed internally. He truly cared about me, and I cared about him. I had been grappling with wether or not my feelings for him were that of love, or friendship. Lately, I swayed towards the former.
"Here, Star, take my hoodie." I looked at him again.
"Are you sure?" Under the hoodie all he had was a T-shirt, and his jeans weren't exactly warm.
"I'm sure. You need it more than me"
"Okay. Thanks Marco." I put the hoodie on. It was warm, and smelled like him. I felt warmer, but not just in the outside. I looked at Marco and saw him looking at me, his lips pursed in what looked like... nervousness? No. It couldn't be. It was Friday for crying out loud, we had no tests today, and I was fine now that I had the hoodie. He quickly looked away. The bus arrived shortly, and we sat down next to each other.
"Traffic's real bad today kids," said the bus driver. "The rides gonna be around an hour long."
"Man, that's a lot of traffic, huh Marco?" I asked him.
"Yeah, sure is." He yawned. "I think I'll use it to catch up on some sleep." I looked over and say him leaning back, eyes closed. I said his name softly. No response. He was already asleep. Whatever's making him so tired must be something big, I thought. I yawned and put my head back and began to doze off, thinking only of first period, the weekend, and Marcos hoodie, still on my back.(Marcos POV)
I woke up on the bus. I glanced at my watch. 8:00. If what the driver said was true, we still had 40 minutes until we arrived at school. I sighed. I was laying against the window and leaning back pretty far. Suddenly I realized something. I looked down and Star was laying with me, one hand on my chest and the other on my shoulder. Her head was tucked under my neck, and she was fast asleep. I froze. Did she do this on purpose? Or while she was asleep? I sat there, perfectly frozen, for five whole minutes. Suddenly, she gave a soft whimper of fear. Slowly, tears silently formed in her eyes. She was having a nightmare, and from the looks of it, a bad one. He leaned up and put his arms around her, one around her waist, one behind her head. He hugged her close, and whispered kind words. Slowly, she relaxed. As he lay back down with her in his arms, she mumbled something in her sleep,
"Luff you Maco" it sounded like. He froze. Did she just say what he thought she said? He looked at her. She was beautiful. He couldn't believe how lucky he was to have her. He smiled and lay against her head and fell back to sleep.(Stars POV)
I woke up as the bus came to a stop at a light. I looked around, then at the pair of arms around me. I yelped in surprise. Marco and I were in each other's arms, asleep. I had been having a nightmare, but it had ended very suddenly. Is this why? Did he notice, and comfort me? I looked into his sleeping face. I loved him. There was no doubt. I leaned up and kissed his cheek, and then settled down against his chest and fell back to sleep. When the bus finally arrived at school, Marco and I both woke up. We paused for a moment and stared at each other. I was wrapping my arms around him, and my face was in his chest. He was resting his head on mine, with his arms around me. After a minute of just sitting there, we looked down and saw our hand intertwined. We got up and picked up our bags, still holding hands. I was practically shaking. He loved me, I just KNEW IT. There was no way he didn't. After everything, after the Blood Moon, after Toffee, and that bus ride, I knew he must. As we walked towards the school, he dropped my hand, and put his arm around my shoulder. I couldn't contain myself any longer. As we reached the school doors, I looked around, saw no one, and flung my arms around his neck and kissed him on the lips. He seemed shocked at first, but quickly kissed me back. He put a hand on the back of my head and held me, and I kissed him more. It felt like my soul was on fire. This is love. I didn't feel it with Tom, I feel it now. The feeling of filling a hole in yourself you didn't know existed. We sat there kissing for almost five minutes. We pulled away, arms still around each other.
"Star," Marco began. He paused and looked down, biting his lip.
"Yes?" I looked straight at him, adoring him.
"Star, I-I-"
"I love you Marco Diaz. I love you more than I have ever loved anyone." I cut him off. He stared into my eyes in awe, in adoration.
"I-I love you too Star Butterfly." I slipped my hand back into his, and we walked slowly to class together, no longer as friends, but as soulmates.End of the chapter, what'd you think? I may release chapter three tonight.
