WARNING: Death occurs in this chapter. You have been warned.

(Marcos POV)

As Star and I walked to class hand in hand, my mind was swimming. Was this real? How had this gone so well? I was walking to class holding hands with the most beautiful girl in all the dimensions, holding her hand, and having just kissed her. This was... euphoria. I looked over at her. She was still blushing. So was I. She looked at me and grinned. She rested her head on my shoulder and sighed.
"I can't believe this." She said. I looked at her, worried. "What? Can't believe what?" I asked. She looked at me, smiling, "I can't believe that after all these months, I finally got to be like this with you." She said.
"All- all these months?" I asked. Did she really have a crush on me since the beginning, just like me?
"Yeah. It seems so long ago that we fought Ludo outside the convenience store." She was right. It felt like ages ago. As we got to class, we sat down next to each other, ready for the last day of the week.

(Time skip, still Marcos POV)
Star was in 6th period gym. I was in History. Only one more period after this, then we were free. I sighed internally as I thought of Star, and if the amazing bus ride and morning we had shared. I didn't imagine in my wildest dreams that I would end up with her, not like this. I looked up at the clock. 2:15. Five minutes, and then all we had was study hall. I zoned out again, daydreaming of Star, my princess of Mewni Star Butterfly.
Suddenly, I sat bolt upright. I heard three loud bangs coming from the front of the building. Everyone froze. Then, again, bang bang bang bang. Four. Then, a flurry of bangs, and screams of terror and the chorus of hundreds of feet sprinting filled the air.
"OH MY GOD HE HAS A GUN!" Somebody screamed in the distance. The class erupted into chaos. Mr. Myers, the teacher, was yelling at everyone, "Now stay orderly, head to the east exit, AND DO NOT GO TO THE FRONT DOOR." I was moving with everyone else when my heart leapt into the top of my throat. Star. I stopped. She was in the gym. I knew that, I listened above the yells of confusion for the gunshots. I heard them, and with a feeling of utmost terror I realized they were headed towards the gym.
"STAR!" I half screamed, half sobbed, and ran toward the sound of the gunshots, toward the sound of death.

(Stars POV)

I was hiding, alone, under the bleachers. I knew something was happening. I knew somebody was hurting people, killing them maybe. Our class was in lock down, huddled in the corner, lights off , door locked. I slipped under the bleachers as a precaution in case someone- no. I wouldn't dwell on that. I looked at my wand. I had tried casting a protective spell, but as soon as the gunshots became louder, that same greyness from this morning had overwhelmed the whole wand. I couldn't cast any spells. I think it may be because of my emotions. I think the fear was crippling my magic abilities. As I sat there, softly crying, I heard someone slamming themselves against the door, followed by much yelling in what sounded like Arabic. A few people began sobbing uncontrollably. Suddenly, I headed a voice of a student yell out to whoever was out there.
"NO!" He said. He seemed, based on the sound of sneakers running on the floor, to be charging at the shooter with the intention of subduing him. As his footsteps neared the door, I heard three more shots, and a loud dull thud. I clasped my hand to my mouth. He killed that boy, who ever that boy was. He was going to kill me. We were all going to be shot by this psychopath. I began to sob along with plenty of others in the room. I peeked my head out just in time to see the door fly open, the lock shot off from the outside. Someone got up and tried to run, but as they turned the corner, they immediately tried to turn around. Too late. I heard a bang, and watched as the kids head was hit by a round. He fell back, dead before he hit the floor. Everyone screamed. I screamed. Suddenly, a man walked in. He wore all black, had on a turban, wore a bandanna as a mask, and carried a rifle and enough bullets to kill everyone in the room ten times.

(Marcos POV)

I was running, screaming, sobbing, and dying on the insides. This couldn't be happening. I flew around them corner and suddenly I saw a man in black with a gun banging on the door to the gym. I knew what I had to do. As I stepped up to yell at him and tackle him, someone else beat me to it. Oscar Greyson flew past me, screamed 'NO!', and threw himself at the man, hitting him as hard as he could. The man threw Oscar off, pulled out a pistol, and fired three shots into Oscars head. I felt my insides shrivel up. I looked down at Oscar. He was dead, no doubt. Oscar Greyson gave his life to try and stop this man from killing people. I looked up. The man had blown off the doors and killed a boy inside the gym. I started forward, then waited, peeking at the man, waiting for my opportunity. He began firing shots into the air and yelling in Arabic. He spoke in English too, about America being a great devil. I sat and watched, frozen with fear, as he shot two people who tried to tackle him. The group screamed. He shot three more people. I was about to step in, when suddenly, I saw Star. She had somehow maneuvered behind the man, and was inching her way along the wall towards me, attempting to escape. We locked eyes. I silently gestured for her to hurry, he could spin around at any moment. Suddenly, another student came at the man. He shot him, but in doing so he turned around and saw Star. I froze. The man reached for her, and grabbing her by the hair threw her down in front of him and kicked her head. He pulled two pistols from his pocket, one he used to kill Oscar. He got Star up on her knees, and began yelling in Arabic, and he pointed the guns at her. My vision disappeared. I flew like the wind at the man. I flung myself at him, and as I tackled him, I heard two shots go off, and suddenly I felt the worst pain of my life erupt in my right shoulder. I hit the ground hard. My vision was blurred, and my ears rang. I looked at my arm. Blood flowed from my shoulder. I looked at the shooter. He was crawling towards one of the guns. I couldn't get to him in time. This was it. He was going to kill me. I said a final prayer to God, for my family, my friends, and for Star. Star. I looked to my right. I could see Star holding her left leg and laying in her own blood. I screamed her name without hearing it. I reached for her. My vision began to fade. The last thing I remember was a group of three people throwing themselves on the shooter and taking his own gun and firing at him. I looked at Star. She was unconscious. Then, my head hit the ground and everything went black.

Cliffhangers suck, am I right?
