Jordan and Josh left to go back home with their mom. He told us what happened after we left. His mom explained that his dad had men make her 'disappear.' He had threatened to hurt them if she contacted them.
Charles and Maggie had tracked her down in a remote town, working at a diner. After much persuading, she returned to her boys. Charles even gave her a job at one of his companies. Jordan was happy to know his mom never abandoned them, but he hated his father. The greedy bastard can rot in hell.
Prom was coming up, which can only lead to one thing, yep, trouble. Now, with the five of us, the school figured we would get into less trouble; that was until Marissa started hanging out with us more. She took a liking to Frazier and his stupid antics. Who knew?
It wasn't long before I caught the two of them hiding out in closets, making out. They would shrug and close the door on me. I asked Jordan about it; you know the whole bros before hoes concept. He was okay with it since they only went out once. Plus, he and Elena were hanging out more. I swear those two will eventually end up together.
Ryan made me promise not to get involved. I whined, and he shrugged. He won, I lost.
Since we love to destroy dances, they enlisted us to decorate for prom. All the students were in a prom frenzy with the proposals. Yes, they did that. Even Frazier and Jordan got into the act, pulling out their proposals, which I have to admit was sweet.
I wondered if Ryan would do something for me, but he blew me off every time I mentioned the others' proposals. I finally resigned from the fact that since we were already a couple, he would not do something romantic like that, although it would be nice.
I tried to block out people getting asked, but there was another one every time I turned the corner. I sighed and walked by. Ryan would kiss me, and we would walk to class, but no matter how hard I tried, I felt more and more down. I know it was stupid, but every girl wants that moment.
We finished up decorating, and it looked amazing. Prom was in three days. The girls were excited about their dresses, but I wasn't. Knowing Ryan expected us to go, I was losing interest fast. Then I decided if he would not ask me, then I would stay home. I know I'm petty, but I don't care.
I was getting some books out of my locker when he walked up, leaning against my locker. I didn't say much.
"So, you know prom is in a few days, right?" He said to me.
I nodded.
"I was thinking......" He said.
"Yeah, I was thinking too. I was thinking about what movie marathon I wanted to do? Oh, and what snacks should I get?" I commented.
"What are you talking about?" He asked, perplexed.
"What my plans are for Saturday night," I answered, not smiling.
"I thought we were going to prom? Isn't that why you went dress shopping?" He asked me curiously.
"Oh, I went but didn't bother to buy anything. Since my boyfriend didn't bother to ask me until now and assumed. I figured I'd have a movie marathon alone." I slammed my locker closed and walked away.
Ryan took out his phone.
She took the bait. Get ready.
Maybe I was harsh, but watching your friends, and every other girl asked most sweetly and you not, hurt. As I walked out of the school, someone grabbed me and blindfolded me, not again. I tried to get loose, but they held their grip on me. I yelled, but they said nothing. I'll die right before prom that I'm not going to. Ugh, this would be a sucky way to go.
