Love Me Not

When I got to school this particular Friday, I could tell things were going to be different. I got off the bus and hurried my way into the school.
As I mentioned before, people think of me as a "well-known" guy. I wouldn't say I'm popular, but it's just that people know my parents have money and they might think I have a "pretty face" or something. I've also heard something about me having a "chill personality", but I guess that's really not up to me to decide.
When I got in the school, I had to sit in the gym before I could go to my locker, just like every single day. I had my signature spot on the bleachers, normally in the top left corner. My bus was always one of the first to arrive, so the gymnasium was almost empty when I made my way to the top of the bleachers. I sat down listening to my music and decided to mind my own business. I've learned that this can be very convenient at times.
Just when an amazing guitar solo was about to commence in the song I was listening to, I was interrupted by a big hug. I looked up to see Danika.
Danika, otherwise known as Dani, was one of the "popular" people in school. She just so happened to have a huge crush on me, but it wasn't what you'd think. It wasn't one of those cute I-blush-when-I-hear-your-name crushes. She was cold and fierce and so were her intentions. Every day she would wear revealing clothing in an attempt to get me to desire her. How shallow can someone be? Before people started learning my name, she would date every guy you could think of that had money or was athletic, but what did she want with me?
"Hey, you," Dani said while throwing herself on me. Everyone thought I was so lucky to have her do this to me, but I despised every bit of it. People told me my life was absolutely perfect.
"Uh, Dani, do you mind moving?" I asked hesitantly. I started noticing some of her friends were starting to sit around us.
"Is this good?" she said while moving closer so she could sit on my lap. She started staring into my eyes, so I naturally avoided all eye-contact.
"Dani, can I just have my space?" I pleaded, trying to sound cool about it. The last thing I wanted was a herd of jocks mopping the basketball court with my dead body because I treated "their girl" the wrong way.
"What's wrong, baby?" Dani said while running her fingers over my lips. I pulled her hand away. Damn, this girl had quite the nerve. I'm almost positive nobody's ever told her no.
I glanced up and noticed my friend Kyle walk in the gymnasium. "Uh, Kyle's here and I...need to talk to him," I said in a desperate attempt to make up an explanation to leave the situation.
"Oh, alright. I'll see you later, baby," Dani said while getting up to sit with her friends two rows below us.
As I walked towards Kyle, I was stopped by Tristan, the QB of the football team.
"Can I help you?" I asked, trying to sound calm. It felt like his eyes were digging their way into my soul.
"Brant (that's what the jocks called me), you're very lucky to have someone like Dani all over you. You better treat her right," Tristan said.
"N-n-n-o, you've got the wrong idea," I stuttered. I personally didn't want someone like Dani, or anyone at the moment for that matter, and I only wished people could see that.
"C'mon man, you've at least gotta take her on a date or something. Anything really," Tristan said. If he liked her so much then why did he want me to take her on a date so badly?
"I'll think about it," I said while brushing past him to get to Kyle, who was waiting for me a few feet away. As I left, I glanced behind my shoulder, and Dani winked at me. Gosh, that girl made me want to throw up.
