"I hate you!" you screamed at him.
"Really? Because I think I love you," he whispered. You looked down at him in disbelief. You decided he was lying.
"Like I'll believe that!"
"Y/N, I actually-"
"No! Shut up, you bastard!"
"Y/N, you're getting fake blood all over yourself." You looked down and saw your leg was coated in red. You sighed.
"I'll deal with you later," you said, standing up and going into the bathroom to wipe off the liquid. Jeff stood in the doorway and watched you. You glared at him. "What?"
"I wasn't kidding."
"Then say it again."
"I really really like you, and I have for a long time." You stared at him for a bit.
"Jeff, we're friends."
"Y/N-"
"If you'll excuse me, I have to finish cleaning up your mess!" You dragged the wet cloth down your leg and it turned red.
"Y/N, is that what this is all about?"
"What are you talking about?" You looked up and flipped your hair out of your face.
"The prank. Is that the only reason you're 'friend-zoning' me?"
"No, it's not. I just like you as a friend," you said, stressing the word friend. "I like someone else."
"Really? Who?"
"It's none of your business," you lied, going back to your legs. Jeff laughed.
"How can you know that you only want to be friends with me if that's all we've ever been?" You hesitated. "You don't. Can't we just try a relationship? If it doesn't work we'll just go back to being friends."
"Jeff, we're already in a relationship. It's called friendship."
"Y/N, I want to be more than friends. What do I have to do to get you to say yes?" You continued cleaning your leg off as you answered.
"You could start by apologizing," you whispered. Jeff didn't respond. "Then, I might consider talking."
"Y/N, I really am sorry I scared you so badly. I didn't mean to make you cry."
"I didn't cry." A rough thumb wiped away a tear you hadn't noticed. You looked up at Jeff and set down the rag. "I didn't cry."
"Yes, you did. I thought it was adorable, even though it did hurt to see you crying." You stuck your tongue out at him and he laughed. "Y/N, I'm sorry. Tonight didn't go as it was supposed to. Um, can I try something real quick?" Hesitantly, you nodded your head.
"I guess." He pulled your face to his and kissed you. You widened your eyes in shock and he pulled away.
"Uh, sorry, I just really needed to get that out."
"Alright, Jeff, I'll give you a chance."
"So, you'll go out with me?" he asked excitedly.
"Yes," you laughed. He smiled even wider and pulled you down the stairs. "Where are we going?" you shouted to be heard over the music.
"Ha! I told you, Clockwork! I was right!"
"Right about what?" Clockwork asked, looking at him in confusion.
"That she was head over heels for me!"
"I never said-"
"You know you are," he said, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. Clockwork looked at you in amazement and you let out a small laugh.
"Yes, I agreed to be this dimwit's girlfriend."
