Right, left, right, left, left-
I tripped over a tree root and stumbled down the hill. My eyes couldn't stay open anymore. I lost track of time a long time ago. The first few weeks I tried to stay alive; I kept looking for food and staying away from Titans. By now I was exhausted, hungry, and disappointed in myself. Disappointed in my inability to survive. The gas from my 3DMG gear ran out a while ago. For the past few days I had been walking non-stop. I had given up on trying to survive. I just wanted it to end, all the hunger, walking, running, hiding.
The loud sound of titans running interrupted my thoughts. Finally, the opportunity I was looking for. I fell to my knees and let my brown hair fall over my face. The whole world seemed to stop as they ran up to me.
Goodbye Hanji, I never met someone as amazing as you.
Goodbye Eren, the most dependable friend I had.
Goodbye Petra, my lifelong best friend.
And goodbye Levi, my first and last love.
My hopes of being saved were diminished by the second night. I had fully accepted my fate. My only regret was never telling Levi how I really felt.
The titan roughly lifted me off the floor and up to his mouth. The smell from his mouth made me gag. I never saw my life ending like this, in fact, i vowed not to die by a titan's hand. That's why suicide came to mind a couple times, but I couldn't bring myself to it.
My weary eyes caught a flash before the titan fell to the floor. I came crashing down hard. The impact made my tired body ache in pain. My eyes rang and my vision blurred. I noticed a few people running up to me. They shook my shoulders furiously and shouted at me. Everything went black as I finally felt at peace.
I woke up to the soothing rocking of a horse. My eyes fluttered open and I took in everything around me. After a second, I finally realized where I was. I shot my head up and looked around frantically.
"Aiya!" I was tackled to the floor by Hanji. She was smiling like crazy. I missed that. She stood up and then helped me up. Only so I could be tackled by Eren.
"I'm so glad you're alive! I was going to lose my mind without you!" I giggled and brought him in for a hug. I looked around for the one person I was dying to see.
"Where's Le-"
"Aiya! You're alive! You're alive! I knew you were alive!" Petra spun me around and hugged me tightly.
"Give her some space." I looked up to see Erwin. "We've got to get going!" The walls were only minutes away. I was actually going to make it home. Hanji rode next to me and didn't take her eyes off me.
"Is something wrong?" I asked her. She sighed happily.
"I'm just glad you're alive, I couldn't handle another one of my friends dying." She spoke quietly. Her words hit me hard once I processed what she said. Fears struck me once again.
"Another?" Her face went flat in realization.
"Oh yeah, you don't know." She whispered. I felt tears come to my eyes, before she spoke. I had a feeling I already knew what was going on.
"When you got lost, Levi sent search party after search party. We spent days looking for you, but eventually, Erwin called off the search parties due to the large amount of casualties. But... Levi couldn't take it. Then one day he just left, to look for you. We spent weeks looking for Levi, but we never found him." Her voice had diminished to a whisper at the end.
My eyes widened in shock. I never thought Levi cared so much for me. I looked down to hide the tears that threatened to fall out. How could I let this happen? It's all my fault he's gone.
