I walked to the car, passing my friend and jumped in, driving to school. Tears formed in my eyes as I stopped the car in the parking lot and a quiet sob left my throat. I blinked as tears fell down my cheeks. I couldn’t stop crying, I knew I shouldn’t be but I couldn’t help it.

I put my head on my steering wheel as a louder sob came, my whole body shaking as I felt arms wrap around me. “Shh, Venus,” Luna said, running her hand up and down my arm as I moved my head so I was leaning against her shoulder, crying into her neck as she rocked me back and forth. “It’s going to be okay.”

“No its not, I told myself to never let any of them hurt me again and they did,” I cried.

“I'm so sorry,” she whispered and I hiccupped along with another sob coming from my chest.

The bell rang and I sighed, wiping my tears away with my hands. “Come on, let’s get to class,” I whispered and she looked at me concerned. “I'm fine.”

She gave me a small smile as we both stepped out of the car and walked inside the school, the smell of perfume and meatballs hitting me. I winkled my nose as the odd mixture of smell. “Come on,” she said, tugging me in the left and I followed her into the classroom.

“Oh Miss Miller and Miss Greene, thank you so much for joining us,” the teacher said. “So tell us why you are late?”

“Why does it matter,” I snapped.

“Girl stuff,” Luna said and I sighed, hearing giggles throughout the classroom.

“Oh shut up,” I growled, going to me chair and slumped into it, putting my hand on the table.

“Get your head off the desk,” Mr. Hander said and sighed as I shook my head, feeling another sob coming. “What no back talk, any funny jokes?”

“I don’t feel like it today,” I whispered, too scared to talk in my normal voice. I heard my voice in a whisper crack, wonder what it would be when I spoke louder.

“Are you okay?” he asked and I slowly shook my head. “Talk to me after class.” I nodded. I didn’t feel like arguing with him.
