Phil and myself had been messing around with the computer for a few hours, with no sign of Dan. Eventually Phil had to do his own thing and it left Dan and I alone.
Fun.
As I made my way to the living room, I glanced at Dan, he looked like shit. "Dan...?" The boy glanced at me,
"Hmm..?" I rubbed the back of my head nervously,
"How are you?"
"Alive. But barely..," He let a weak chuckle out. I couldn't stand to see him like this. Everything had been so messy.. And now that it's slowly coming together, Dan isn't Dan.
"I love you..," I muttered earning no response as I headed to the bathroom for a shower. Dan and I's conversations usually all ended like this. After the bomb. After Phil. After Mike. But hey, we're all gonna die, so does it matter?
"Existential Crisis...," I muttered turning the shower on. My thoughts clouded my mind as I sighed. As I finished my short shower I got dressed.
It wasn't anything special, just black. As I looked at my reflection, I swore I saw a smiling Dan,
"Trust Me."
He was gone. I blinked back tears as I left the bathroom, "Dan..?" No response. I muttered calling again. No response.
I sighed starting to cuss him out. I opened his room door, and at that moment my heart sunk. I ran to him. Untangling the rope from the hook best I could. He fell to the floor. I sobbed as I saw the note.
I picked it up. As I started to read I heard his amazing voice...
"We're all full of lies. I ended mine here. I loved you. Don't mourn over me too long.. It was all too much, but won't we see each other again?
I'll give you my halo."
