Scootaloo is sitting alone outside of her school. She's waiting for Rainbow Dash to pick her up, but it's been a while. "Hmm... wait a second..." "Hey, buddy!" A blue pegasus with a rainbow mane flies up to her. "Rainbow Dash! You actually came!" "Of course I did! I wouldn't leave ya hangin'! Now, come on! We've got no time to lose!" Rainbow Dash had promised to teach Scootaloo how to fly.
Rainbow flies Scootaloo up high. She holds Scootaloo by her back hooves. "I... I think I'm gonna fall!" She flaps her wings uselessly. "Nah! Unless I... let go!" She pretends to drop Scootaloo. "I don't think this is a good idea!" "Relax! I would let you fa-" Suddenly, the filly slips through Rainbow's hooves. "Woooaaaah!! Rainbow Daaaaaash!!" The filly scrambles in the air, trying to flap her wings and swatting at the air. "Scootaloo! Noooooo!!" Rainbow dives after her.
Twilight walks into the waiting room of the Ponyville Hospital. "Rainbow Dash! What happened?" She waits for a response. "Rainbow Dash..?" "Its MY fault..." Rainbow just stares at the ground. "What are you talking about?" "Its MY fault! I was the one who let her fall!" Twilight gives her a puzzled look. "Let her fall...? Rainbow Dash! Just tell me what happened!" Flashbacks cloud her mind, causing her to tightly squeeze her eyes shut. "I was practicing with Scootaloo, teaching her how to fly, and I jokingly let go of her, and she ended up falling and now she's-" "Woah, woah, woah! Slooow down! So that's why you're here? How is she doing? Is she ok?" Twilight goes to place a hoof on Rainbow's shoulder, but Rainbow Dash slaps her hoof away. "No! She's not "ok" Twilight! She's- she's in a coma..." "Oh, Rainbow! I'm so sorry! She'll be ok! At least she's still alive!" Silence fills the room until a spark flashes in Dashie's eyes. She flashes a look of anger and determination. "You know what? I'm gonna make it up to her! I'm gonna do it. I'll work hard and pay for her bills, I'll pay all the medical expenses and for extra care..." Twilight sighs, "Rainbow, I don't think that's such a good idea..." Rainbow Dash stares her in the eyes. "Let me do this Twilight! Let me do this... for me, for Scootaloo. Let me do this."
