I Cant (COMPLETE)

Annie's POV

October 1, 2021

I wake up look at my phone and notice it's the first. I'm still living in the cabin and I realize I was only supposed to stay here for the summer but the boys are staying for a while longer so we are leaving when they do which is in December before Christmas everybody's going to go home to their families..... I don't have much of a family anymore I don't know where my mom or dad live and I'm 1 out of 3 kids left. I start to cry as I lie in my bed looking at the ceiling. Brennan wakes up and with a really concerned look on his face. I still haven't told him about my parent situation it's just something that I've kept to myself for a long time. Thinking about Hayley and my parents only makes me cry harder I sit up and Brennan rushes over to me. My cries are now sobs and Brennan has his arms wrapped around me.
B- what's wrong Annie.
A- today's........ October......1st
B-why are you so upset about it.
A-day......brother.......died.
I say between sobs.
He pulls apart from or embrace with sorrow written all over his face. He stands up and pulls me up too.
B-I'm going to take you somewhere.
A- where?
My sobs have turned back into little cries again.
B-just follow me.
He says pulling me out the door. We get into his car and he takes me to the top of the mountain by the lake. There's the bench sitting by the edge. He gets out and so do I and he pulls me towards the bench.
B-this is where I used to come to think about things.
A-me too and same with Caleb that's why.... 
my voice trails off.
Brennan motions me to continue. I start crying again and just show him. What's on the bench. It's Caleb's bench. There's a plaque on it that says.
"Caleb Logan Leblanc. 7-13-2 to 10-1-15"
B-Annie I'm so sorry.
A-it's ok let's just sit down for a little bit.
B-ok

Brennan's POV

After sitting for awhile I don't hear Annie crying anymore. I look down and little did I know she was asleep. I pull out my phone and see a text from Nick.
N-where did you and Annie go this morning I hear you guys leave the house early.
B-I took her to the top of the mountain for a while.
N- Oh ok is everything ok
B-ya she just needed to.... get out of the cabin.
N-ok I got to go.
B- ok bye.
I hear annie start to wake up.
B- hey Annie are you ready to go back to the cabin for a while I'm getting hungry.
A- why don't we stop to eat I wanna show you something now.
B-sure you driving.
A-yup
She smiled the saddest smile I've ever seen in history
B-ok
We've been driving for about an hour it's almost 4:00 in the afternoon. Finally we stop at this old time skating shop. We took Annie's truck to the lake because me and my friends didn't take my car down we took nicks. She jumps out and I follow her she goes inside.
A-you know how to skateboard.
B-ya I love doing it back at home.
A-do you have one?
B-no
A-well then come in my friend will hook you up.
B-you don't have to do that.
A-your right I don't but...... it's free
She laughs and this time for real.
We go inside and there's a guy standing at the counter Annie said his name is Brandon.

BR- hey ans
A-hey Brandon
They say fist bumping
Shed this is my boyfriend Brennan and I was wondering if you could hook him up with a skateboard.
BR- ya I got one right back here let me go get it.
He comes back out with the skateboard. It was black on the top and had a baseball pattern on the bottom.
A- thanks Brandon
BR- anytime
We walk out
B-what now
A-now we can skateboard to the beach. Come on
B-wait where's your bored.
A-right here.
She says opening her trunk. She pulls out a skateboard that's black on the top with the American flag on the bottom. It looked pretty cool. We go on the road and skateboard to the beach. And walk into the dock the sun was setting and it looked beautiful.
A-it's so pretty
Annie says in amazement
B-not and pretty as you though.
A-oh please. Just take a good look. She says taking her focus off the sky and onto me. Our eyes meet and we both lean in. I put my hands on her waist and pull her closer. We are so close you couldn't fit a piece of paper between us if you tried.
B-I love you so much
I whispered
A-not as much as I love you.
She whispered back.
I closed the gap between our lips. Our lips move in sync. After about a minute or so we break apart.
B- we should go back to the truck before it gets darker.
A-ya. Let's go.

* Back at the cabin*

Annie's POV

By the time Brennan and I get back it's almost 9:00pm and we pull into the driveway and see a lot more than just Nicks car. Brennan and I look at each other in confusion. I put the car in park and get out. Brennan and I walk to the front door and open it to see......
