Over the course of about 2 hours, Ellie and Ronan had moved Alana towards her home and dipped her dry but beautiful tail at the edge of the bank while her Grandpa went back to the shack to find out about more Alana and mermaids. Ronan and Ellie then started to pant like they had moved a 900 pound boulder. They realized how difficult it was to move mermaids tail 10 meters. They then stared at Alana for a moment. Why was she speaking into a starfish? They wondered for minutes until she put the starfish down and gave them a look.
"Have you never seen a Fishphone 9.9? Are you really that old?" Alana questioned them. Ronan held in his anger about knowing there was no such thing as a Fishphone 9.9 or even a Fishphone 0.1 but he then realised that he was talking to a mermaid. From the sea! Both the land and sea were very different and they had different ways of talking. Ellie on the other hand was screaming at the mermaid trying to put some human sense into Alana's fish of a brain. Ronan step in front of Ellie and made her stop yelling at the harmless creature who lived in a total different world. Ellie froze in embarrassment. She then realised what Ronan had realised a few moments ago.
Ronan pulled Ellie aside and started to tell her that she was from a different place although Ellie already knew because of what happened a few seconds ago. While Ellie and Ronan were talking there was a familiar sob started to fill their ears. They stared at each other. Where was it coming from and why was it so familiar? They then realised it was coming from behind them. They turned around to see Alana sitting there flicking her tail around in every direction. She looked mad. She looked like she wanted to take someone's eye out. Her eyes had changed from a midnight blue to a raging red colour. Why was she so upset? Then she stopped and her enraged eyes stared straight into Ellie's. From the inside, Ellie thought Alana was looking into her soul. Finding her darkest secrets, regrets, nightmares and fears. Ellie had never been so scared. She had secrets that not even Ronan knew. They were private, too private. Ronan quickly stepped in between the girls and slowly started to walk to towards Alana keeping Ellie out of view while Ellie just stood there in fear. Scared to see what Alana was going to do next. As Ronan reached Alana he asked
"Why are you so mad?"She replied
"I wanted Ellie to apologise for her rudeness and that I have lost my magical locket that my Grandma gave to me for my birthday many years ago. Ellie didn't what to say sorry because she couldn't see what she had done wrong. She made a mistake and she knew that. If anything Alana should've been the one apologising for scaring the hell out of Ellie but after fighting for a good ½ hour, Ellie apologised to Alana. The second task was a lot harder because they had no idea what this supposed magic locket looked like. They search the beach all day but no sign of the mysterious locket.
The golden flower started to set slowly, as if it was in slow motion, into a bundle of blue water. The dark knight appeared and the Ronan and Ellie couldn't search anymore. The lay there together, side by side. It could've been a romantic moment if the both of them were not so exhausted. Finally, when they could only just see each other, Ronan got up upon his feet and pulled Ellie to hers. They started to slowly walk down the beach. It was silent. They loved it. Their fingers started to merge together as they slowly pulled their feet through the sand. As they were about a 10 metres from where Alana was, they heard a voice.
"Where are you going" asked Alana with some attitude in her voice. The pair turned around and said
"We have to go home! We will be back tomorrow at 4:30pm" and turned around again to walk back to the shabby old beach house leaving Alana in the darkness. Ellie wished she could keep walking, pretend like she had never seen Alana. The whole drama of taking her back to the ocean would be some else's problem. Ellie knew Ronan wished the same thing but he only wished it a less than she did. At the beach house, her Grandpa was waiting. He had smile spread across his face. He took a deep breath and spoke with some pride in his voice.
"I thought you were going sleep on the sand" He sarcastically laughed. Then when Ellie him one of those really I am very tired so get to the point looks he decided to continue with his news. "Anyway Ronan it is too late to go home so I called your parents and they said you could stay!" Her Grandpa put his hairy arm around Ellie and dragged her to his side. After Ellie managed to pull away from her grandpa's tight grip, clawed up the stairs and collapsed on her bed. Ellie thought she should probably put on her pyjamas so she stumbled off her bed and opened the wooden chest containing her clothes. She tugged on the PJs and carefully placed the old clothes back in the chest. Looking down at her bedside table, Ellie saw her iPad Mini. Good, it was finally fixed! Ellie clicked the home button and examine the time.
"9:30pm" Ellie shrieked. Ronan then peered into her room. "Can you believe what time it is?"
"I know but you missed the chocolate gummy biscuits your Papa was giving out"
"I really do not care right now Ronan and only I call him Papa!" Ellie said annoyingly. After Ellie harsh words Ronan left Ellie alone. He figured she was in a mood. She was tired. Pulling her new iPhone 6 out, her parents got her for her birthday, from her drawer in her bedside table she quickly checked her Instagram account. Soon after that she placed the phone on back into the bedside table drawer and fell into a deep slumber. Just after that her Grandpa came up to wish her goodnight. He sat at the edge of the bed and just looked at his sweet granddaughter's face. He loved her so much. After a while, he realised he had things to do before morning so he quickly got up; kissed Ellie's forehead and left the room making sure he turned the lights out before leaving.
