**Same day**
**Nate's P.O.V**
Haley didn't say anything else as she drove us home. It was obvious to tell that she was annoyed with me. I'm the favorite at home, even her own mother sides with me more than her. It's probably because all Haley ever does is sleep around and do drugs so her mom gave up on her.
I turned my head to see Bradley staring out the window. He had an off look on his face.
"What are you thinking about?" I rested my head on his shoulder and he snapped out of his trance like state to took at me. He put his arm around me and kissed the top of my head.
"Nothing important." I raised my eyebrow at him. He should know better than to lie to me. It was obvious that he was thinking about something important to him. "Okay okay. My mom called right after school and said she wanted me to come home."
My mouth opened wide at his words. His mother made it extremely clear to him that she never wanted to see him again when he came out, and so did his father. "Do you want to go?"
He shook his head and pulled me even closer to him. "You know I can't stand her. What she said to me was unforgivable. Nate, she told me she hated me." Another tear made it's way down his face. I brushed it away with my finger before it made it half way down his cheek.
"You don't have to go. She can't force you."
"I'm only 15. I'm a minor. She can do whatever she wants to me, and if that means making me come home, then she can." I noticed Haley had parked the car in the driveway and was staring at us.
"Do you want me to take you home?" She looked at Bradley and then to me.
He shook his head and got out of the car. I watched him walk up the path leading to the front door. He glanced back to see if I was behind him, frowned when he noticed I hadn't, and continued into the house.
Haley climbed into the back and sat next to me. She wrapped her skinny arms around me and just held me while I cried. I don't know why I was crying. I just was.
"Nate, I love you." She kissed my forehead before she got out of the car too. "Are you coming?" She smiled and held out her hand for me.
I grabbed it and we walked into the house together. Bradley was laying on the sofa in the living room. His head was on the hand rest and his legs were hanging off the side. It physically pained me to look at the position he was in. There's no way he can possibly be comfortable.
"Nathan! Come here!" My dad was sitting in the kitchen while my step mom made dinner. "Why is Bradley here? I told you not to bring him over tonight." He kept his voice relatively low since the subject he was talking about was laying down not even twenty feet away.
"Megan and Logan were busy so where else was he supposed to go?" I sat down opposite him and sipped on his milk.
He grabbed his milk back and quickly drank the rest of it. "His mother called. She wanted him home."
"Dad! You know he can't go home!"
"Nathan, keep your voice down. It'll be okay, it's only one night. He can stay here tomorrow and everyday after, just not today." He frowned as he grabbed his car keys. "Wake him up and tell him he's leaving."
"He can stay in my room while Mom's here! She won't be going up there anyway! Dad, please?" I could feel the tears about to burst out of my eyes. There was no way I would let Bradley go back to his house. His father would beat the living hell out of him and his mom would watch and encourage him to punch Bradley harder.
