Robie knew something was wrong the moment he teleported here. What's he saying? Everything is wrong wherever he goes. He recalled going to McDonald to purchase a cheeseburger after saving the world. Next thing he knew, his skin crawled like spiders.
Okay, why does that even bother him? Robie isn't some normal kid in the hood, he's a lunatic. Which is why he can sense monsters five blocks away from the restaurant.
I just saved the world. He mused and opened his Happy Meal.
An angel popped at his left shoulder. "But someone might be in danger."
The devil popped on his right. "Ah, who cares. Goody toys first."
The angel growled and smacked the devil away. Not a very angel-like way to go.
With a sigh, Robie focused directly at the monster and teleported there. Maybe I should let Arthur and the gang know?
Who cares, the plot will have to be longer if I want to wait for them. He thought.
He arrived at an empty park, green grasses and calm trees that will make anyone happy. Minus the part of a huge abomination standing two feet away from him. The creature looked like it just climb out the sewer. The Ninja Turtles must be slacking somewhere again.
"Hey, ugly! Your house in that way!" He shouted.
The monster ignored him.
"Aw, come on. That always gets the monsters attention." He said.
Then at the far walking path, he spotted a couple standing not far from the abomination. Seriously, Valentine's Day is a past. He teleported there quickly and appeared right in front of them.
"Erm, hello? Earth to you guys, the park's close for the day." Robie said. He knew humans can't actually see monsters as the creatures blend in among their society. He wondered if they notice this monster it probably take the form of a yoga man or a stray dog.
"Closed for the day? But I never received any notice about this," Michael said calmly. "And may I ask who are you?"
"Name's Jester, Robie Jester. The watchguard of this park." He lied with a bow.
"Ahh, I see. Nice meeting you, Jester. I'm Michael. And this lady here is..."
"Umm... Macy Mckell. Sorry to break it to you but why are there big feet marks coming towards us?" she said, pointing a shaky index finger behind Robie.
Michael gasped. "You're right, Macy. Something's not right. But, I have a feeling someone who can appear out of thin air can explain this," he smiled.
Robie gulped. He forgot humans can see his powers. Ugh, Arthur will kill me for that. He went and thought something up.
"I'm secretly a magician in disguise." He tried. Somehow not the best he could do.
"Hahaha," Michael laughed, "Robie, can I call you that instead? I would believe you if you didn't have that look on your face."
"Look, you guys have to get out of here, okay," he said nervously, glancing back at the abomination moving closer by the clock. Should he use his powers and teleport them off? But that will cause an uproar and Arthur will definitely kill him for that.
"I will be leaving first. It was nice to meet you two," Macy said before turning on her heels to walk away.
"Wait, stop!" Robie called.
The monster charged and lifted Macy by her leg. She screamed in horror as her book fell from her hands. Her body was hanging upside down in the air like a doll.
"MACY!" Michael shouted out as he saw her got lifted up to the air. Robie knew he's shocked as he couldn't see the monster. He turned to Robie and exclaimed, "Hey! You know something, don't you?! Then, DO SOMETHING!"
Robie scratched his hair frustratingly. It had to be now! Arghh, just when Arthur's not around. He rolled his eyes and zapped to the monster's height. Quickly, he delivered a blow at the abomination's head.
The monster didn't budge or bother looking at him, its focus remained at Macy. Robie teleported again above the monster and pulled out his pocket knife. He didn't expect to bring this as a weapon but when you gotta fight you gotta.
He raised it high to the sky and thrusted the blade deep into the monster's skin. This time the creature howled in pain. It released Macy at thin air and wailed like a baby--an annoying baby. Michael caught her in his arms and Robie swooped besides them, eyes at the monster.
Run, run, run! This park has paranormal activities now!" Robie urged and ran.
"WHAT IS GOING ON!?" Macy screamed as they ran in the same direction.
"I don't know," Michael confessed. "But I think we should get out of here ASAP!"
"THINK? We should get out of here! Did you see what happened to me back there!?" Macy complained with her eyes wide open.
"Yeah, of course I saw what I saw. But panicking now won't do any good. It'll make matters even worse. Calm down, Macy," he gave her a small smile.
Robie chuckled and glanced back. He immediately regretted that decision. The monster recovered much enough to chase after them. It rushed towards them like a bowling ball, and they're the pins. He scanned the park, finding the exit pathway before becoming pancake.
Where's the exit when you need one? Robie complaint. He can hear the gravel behind them crackling nearer and nearer. We can't outrun the abomination.
And then, next to him was Michael, catching up with his speed alongside Macy in his arms. The guy looked like an athlete in the olympics mixed with Prince Charming in the fairytales.
Suddenly, Michael paused and dragged Robie to the left.
"Okay, Prince Charming, mind telling us where the exit is?" Robie asked, keeping his breath counted.
"There's a shortcut here to the main street. It's a bit tight so we can use it to slow down that whatever thing. Judging from its feet, it's huge right?" Michael said with a weak voice as he tried to conserve his stamina for the whole run.
Robie turned his head back again. "Yep. Ever met King Kong? Well, this is his baby cousin."
Michael whistled. "I don't think I wanna see the world like you do, bro."
He laughed nervously while remembering Arthur and the gang. "Trust me, it will blow your mind."
They reached at the end of the park where a wall tall enough to the height of two people. Michael searched around and pushed a small bush off, revealing a small hole hiding behind it.
Robie and Michael exchanged looks then to Macy.
"What?" Macy asked.
Michael let her down. "Ladies first." He said with a smile. "Don't worry, it's a straight path ahead. Just make sure you don't step into any holes. You may hurt yourself."
Macy sighed nervously. "Okay," she said. She went down on her knees and started to crawl into the hole.
"Whatever you do, don't stop." Robie suggested. He could use his powers to bail on them but he prefer not.
The sound of the monster erupted at a near distance.
"Go, go!" Robie urged.
Michael looked at him. "You next?"
"I'm fine," He assured. "Just go, hurry!"
Michael crawled next, his body soon disappeared into the hole. Robie raised his head and scouted. The abomination was heading for them full charge. Instantly, he remembered the McDonald's interior. He teleported there just milliseconds before the monster tackled him.
