Night Terrors

(There is no smut in this one don't worry! But there is angst.)

"Gay piece of shit!"

"Fucking faggot!"

"Go kill yourself!"

"You shouldn't even be alive!"

"What a mistake!"

"Thomas?"

Tom whipped around at the last one, the dark space within his mind still as dark and empty as usual. Tears filled his empty eyes. He hung his head and let the tears fall, the black floor swallowing them as a reminder he couldn't escape like they could. He screamed.

"Thomas!"

He bolted up into a sitting position in his bed, gasping. Tord sat beside him, a hand on his shoulder. Tom burst into tears and buried his face into Tord's hoodie, desperate for any sort of comfort. He feet Tord stiffen, and then relax, the hand that was in his shoulder move to start petting Tom's head gently.

"It was only a dream Thomas, there is no need to be afraid.", he said in his smooth Norwegian accent.

Tom nodded and let out a shaky breath, tugging the smaller man closer. Tord finally hugged him, wrapping his arms around the larger man's neck, allowing him to cry into the shoulder of his red hoodie. After a while Tom drew back, the rim of his black eyes red from where he had been crying.

He sniffed, "Thank you."

"No problem Tom, do you want to talk?", he asked.

Tom shook his head, "Nothing you haven't heard before."

This wasn't the first time the Norwegian had run into Tom's room to help him through his night terrors, and this was the only time they felt that they could be open to each other.
Tord rubbed his back, smiling gently, "There there."

Tom said nothing, instead lying down and tugging Tord with him, chuckling at the undignified squeak he let out. "Stay with me?"

"Of course Thomas."

Tord snuggled into Tom's chest, letting his bulky arms wrapped around his protectively, the blanket settling on top of them gently.

"Goodnight Thomas.", said Tord with a yawn.

Tom nuzzled Tord's head gently, "Goodnight Tord."

"I love you."

"I love you too."
