They were holding hands walking around Mystic Fall apartment shopping. Yes, the young couple decided to take the big leap and rent an apartment together. It wasn't for them to live there all the time, but more of a place that they can have for themselves, a place they would go when they didn't want to get interrupted by Damon or Bonnie's parents.
Stefan had just got a raise and Bonnie would also help pitch in with the rent. They weren't looking for anything too big because it was just the two of them, but they wanted to have an extra room or two just in case Matt or Caroline or Elena decided to give them a visit.
Matt's uncle was a realtor so he made sure to show the couple the best apartments with the best price and location. There were a few places not too far from school so he showed them those first. Nothing seemed to catch their eyes until Henry showed them an apartment that fit all their wants and needs.
It was a three bedroom, two bath apartment. It held a nice sized kitchen with a dishwasher. The living room was big enough to hold a large couch and a few chairs and a TV. The master bedroom held a large window with a nice view of the park. It had a connected bathroom with a glass shower and two sinks. The other two rooms were about a little more than half the size of the living room and they saw it to be perfect.
They paid for the first three months of rent then headed to the furniture store to make a wish list on the things that they would buy for their new place.
"I'm so happy Stefan." Bonnie smiled wrapping her arms around his neck.
"I'm glad you are I love to see you smile."
She stood on her toes to lean in and kiss him. He pulled her in closer as the kiss deepened. They pulled away and continued with their shopping.
It's been a month since the two had found their apartment and they were almost finished with the decorations. They still wanted to paint, but it wasn't their main priority. They had their friends over and they were in a heated game of Go Fish.
"Matt, do you have any reds?" Elena challenged.
"Nope, go fish"
"Damn it!"
Everyone laughed at Elena as she picked up a card and added it to her hand.
"Hand over those blues Salvatore." Bonnie held out her hand.
"Sorry babe, but unless I'm colored blind I have no blues."
"Let me see" Bonnie leaned in to get a peek of his cards but Stefan leaned back.
"No you cheater." Stefan said amused.
Bonnie rolled her eyes and reluctantly picked up a card.
"Is my Bonnie mad at me?"
She just stuck out her tongue causing everyone to laugh.
The rest of the game was heated, everyone had their chances of winning, but Caroline took that title.
After their game they went out to eat at Mystic Grill.
"We need to do this more often." Caroline spoke after her laughter subsided.
"Yeah we should." Stefan said throwing an arm around Bonnie's shoulder.
As time passed, people stared leaving one by one until Stefan and Bonnie were the last ones at the booth. They ordered a slice of chocolate cake to share for dessert before they left.
This would be the first time that they spent the night at their new place. Every time they would make plans to, something would pop up, but they made sure to clear their schedule for the night so they could spend it together.
After their showers, the snuggled close.
"Good night, my love." Stefan whispered pulling her in close.
"Good night Stefan."
