As we walk down the winding road to school, I see many people who have experienced summer glow ups.
Tans and Toned bodies are scattered among us.
"Hey I don't recognise him!" Elliot says raising his hand, my gaze follows his finger until I spot a very familiar face. Alfie.
"Elliot, oh my god, it's Alfie, that's him!"

"Your summer lover? No way! He's gorgeous! Go say hey, introduce me" he says with a not smooth wink, "Just kidding Vi he's all yours!"

I hobble over, a mix of nervousness and excitement spirals through my body, until I stand face to face with him.
"Violet," he says, a smile spreading along his perfectly shaped lips.

"Alfie, what are you doing here!" I snap, my fists clenched, I don't understand why I'm all of a sudden annoyed, I should be happy.

"My family moved here, I, erm, wasn't expecting to see you here?"

"Well I live here so if course I'm here!" I hiss.

"Erm, sorry? Look I'm sorry to surprise you but surely this is a good thing? I mean we can see each other now, all the time!"

I sigh, I should be happy so how come I'm not? I look around and I can see it, Alfie was mine, my summer happiness, and now he's here, for everyone to see him, he isn't just mine anymore.

I turn round to look at Elliot, hoping for an escape, 12 years of best friends has paid off. He stumbles over and mutters,
"Sorry mate, I need to take Violet with me, is that okay?"
Bewilderment runs over his face and he  walks off, jaw set.

"What was that about?" Elliot asks, eyebrows furrowed.

"God knows Elliot, God knows,"
