◇My Old Teachers

7th grade is tough. I'm late with all my work. I don't know how I'll survive highschool. But I've been thinking about something my theripist and I talked about today.

I miss 6th grade.
Not 5th.
Not 3rd.
6th.

Why?

I had the best teachers. They were truly the best humans I will have ever met, and that's saying something. They were the kind of teachers that were basically your parents. You could imagine them in any given child/parent situation better than your own parents.

Now this was a time in my life where my depression was heavy. I had just escaped the cluches of my old school, leaving all my bullies behind. My dad was gone, I moved to a new house, and I had no friends. I did make some eventually. But my teachers were my first friends. I remember one teacher;the one I loved the most. We'll call him Mr.G for this story. Anyway, Mr.G was basically my dad. We would always hang out during his reading class, and he even ate lunch with me in the corner. Heck, we even went to McDonalds together sometimes. He was a young teacher, only 25.

Once on a fucking test, he put one answer option as 'free shavacado' (who ever remembers that meme gets 10 points :3).

He mostly understood what growing up with mental illness was like. He was the former emo kid, the shy nerd who wanted to be an artist or author, ended up being a reading teacher.

We would share our love of books, tv & movies, anime, all the other good shit. He would let me borrow his comics and manga to read.

My best memory with him is when he told me he saw me as his own child, and would literally be the first person to take me in if no one else wanted me in this cruel world (yep, he said that).

*Tais suddenly realizes all the things he could talk about but doesn't want the story to be long*

*Tais takes a break and retrives the manga Mr.G gave him as a goodbye present*

*Tais remembers the one time he had a panic attack and Mr.G let him vent out to him and cry*

*Tais remembers the last hug he gave him, and waving goodbye and Mr.G crying as he left*

Tais starts to cry.
