We started to get to know one another. For the past couple of days, we have been eating lunch. The way she speaks about her dreams of traveling is captivating.
One day, we were eating at the outside pavilion. I was eating hot chips with chicken breast and a side of biscuits. Arista was eating what seemed to be breaded cheese.
"What are you eating?" I asked.
"I'm eating mozzarella sticks. Would you like to try?"
"Of course. Would you like some chips?"
"I would love some French fr- chips." We tried each other's food. The mozzarella sticks are actually delicious. I am not much of a food critic but I would eat them again.
Arista finished her food. "Oliver, can I ask you something? ""Certainly."
"What is New Zealand like?"
To be honest, I was caught off guard. I never got a question like this before besides one classmate who couldn't stop gawking at me. I carefully thought of what to say, Because after all, it isn’t an easy question.
"Have you ever watched Lord of the Rings? It's...green, there are a lot of hills and the scenery is lovely. It's quite peaceful in my opinion."
"It's beautiful." Arista said tenderly, brushing her bobbed hair behind her ear.I smiled as the bell rang. We were walking to class when a blaring alarm went off. Arista screamed, covering her ears. She walks to the nearest exit with an uncomfortable look on her face. I followed her, concerned.
As soon as we are outside, she sat away from everyone else.
Is she sensitive to loud noises? I almost forgot that there was something different about her.
