My eyes close tight, yet I see everything. The hills pour down with two blood-thirsty armies, and the only thing holding them back is my signal for the war to begin. But I stand still. I keep my eyes closed. I would never willingly admit this, but I'm frightened.
Images of my friends and family laying down with bullet holes in their forgotten bodies haunt me. My mother, my father, my aunt, and the love of my life are all ready to fight while my best friend is preparing to pick up the pieces, and I feel their agitation. I keep my eyes locked because there has to be another way. I refuse to accept this violent fate; her fate.
The other leader, is ready for blood. Yet I feel his confusion as if it were my own. Why haven't we begun? Why am I not angry? Why do I stand here patiently without any evidence of regret or frustration? I know the answer: I have found the only real solution to end this war before it begins.
I open my eyes, and I feel the collective emotions of all the blood-thirsty soldiers as I take one innocent step forward.
