"Today will be a good day," Hiro said to himself on a crisp Monday morning.
"You are feeling emotions of stress," Baymax chirped back. "I'm not sure if that means you will have a good day." They were walking in the halls of SFIT, which were relatively quiet since it was so early in the morning.
The duo strolled into a large university classroom, scattered with tables, chairs, and occasional surgery equipment. At the front table sat Dr. Singh, the head of the medical department at SFIT. She looked up at Hiro and Baymax.
"Hiro! Baymax! Glad to see you two so early," she said with a warm smile.
"Hello, professor," Hiro replied, dragging Baymax with him to prevent the robot from accidentally being punctured by surgical knives. "This room seems a lot messier than usual."
"Well, we are creating something extraordinary here," said Dr. Singh, eyes twinkling. "After all, this IS a massive project shared between the medical and robotic departments here at the university. And I see you brought your companion here."
"Hello, Ms. Singh. It is a pleasure to see you again," replied Baymax.
"I've added a few upgrades to Baymax using the symptom notes you gave me." Hiro said while digging through his bag. "He can identify more illnesses with his scanner now." He returned a thick folder to the older woman.
"I see," Dr. Singh said. "Alright, Baymax, would you please scan me?"
Baymax complied. "Scan complete. You have a minor cut on your finger, presumably a paper cut. Some disinfectant and a bandage will help it heal. Other than that, you are healthy, and I recommend daily exercise and healthy eating. Have a lollipop."
Grinning, Dr. Singh thanked Baymax and took the lollipop. "I'll admit that I'm not the best subject to be scanned," the doctor chuckled. "He said the same thing 3 months ago."
"That means that you are sustainably healthy," Baymax said.
"Oh, I hope so," replied Dr. Singh while organizing a few papers on her desk. She sighed. "Time goes by so fast, Hiro. I can't believe that you're 20 already! I remember it was just yesterday when your project backfired on you 5 years ago."
"I'll always be a kid at heart, Dr. Singh," Hiro reassured grinning. "I may look different, but my inventions still don't always work out."
Suddenly, there as a knock on the door. "Professor?"
"Miss. Choi, what a surprise!"
Hiro whipped around to see [y/n] standing at the door, with a bag slung over her shoulder. They made a eye contact, which made Hiro suck in a breath.
"Come on in," Dr. Singh ushered. [y/n] walked over to her desk, standing as far away from Hiro as possible. "[y/n], this is Hiro Hamada. He's the student teacher I was talking about last week."
[y/n]'s eyes widened. "Oh, um, okay."
"Hiro, this is [y/n] Choi, top student in Medical Biology."
"I, um, actually--"
"[y/n], I have to attend a meeting in 3 minutes, would you mind filling Hiro in about what's going to happen today? Thanks."
Dr. Singh didn't seem to notice the tension between the two.
"Of course, professor," [y/n] barely finished before Dr. Singh disappeared in a flash.
Now, Hiro and [y/n] were alone.
With Baymax, of course, but he was too busy taping himself after he fell on some knifes.
