Chapter 15: Deadly Secret

(Time skip till days later)

Y/N's P.O.V:

I was taking a stroll around Phoenix Drop, I haven't been out for a while so it's nice, I saw a guy standing on the edge of the docks, I don't think I've seen him..... so I walked over,

"Hi," the man turned around, he had light brown hair and blue eyes,

"Hi, Y/N, right? I'm Laurence,"

"Yep, that's me, hello, what are you doing out here?" He looks back at the sea with a slight look of doubt on his face,

"There's a..... weird aura, I can't place my finger on it but I've felt it before and it's bothering me," I looked at him with confusion

"what....do....you mean there's an aura, how do you......?" He looks at me

"I'm a shadow knight, please don't be scared," I flinched at the words, but then calmed down

"No, I trust you. If you're here in Phoenix Drop I can tell you're not a bad person."

"Thank you, it means a lot. I'm probably just being paranoid or have been on a boat for too long, but somethings definitely wrong."

"I'll keep an eye out for anything weird." I smiled at him, he smiled back weakly but then turned away. I left him be and walked along the path.

Walking along admiring the massive tree I hear 2 children, a boy and a girl, screaming. 

"hyaaaaa ha!" Nekoette and I'm guessing Dante's son were outside Kawaii~Chan's house fighting a scarecrow dummy with swords and bow and arrows.

"Nekoette~Tan! Dmitri~Kun! come inside for some tea and cakes, you've been training for hours already." 'training?' I walked over to say hi

"Ah, Y/N~senpai do you want to come in for some tea and cake as well?"

"Ah sure, I came to say hi and okay :D" I went inside and looked at the children,

"Why exactly are you two 'training'? With swords and bows?"

"We wanna become guards!" I just blankly looked at them, they're like what, 5 years old and already have they're lives planned out?! I think the weapons planned it out for them oh well.

I saw Levin running towards me, "Y/N!" He looked confused and worried,

"Hey baby, whats wrong?" I cocked my head to the side

"Have you seen Laurence at all today?"

"Uh yeah, I saw him earlier today he was by the docks, why?"

"He told me to meet me somewhere, something was 'driving him nuts' or whatever" I remembered what he told me

"Yeah, he said that something was off or whatever. I don't know" Levin looked away and his face softened, he's been going home pretty late these last couple days.

"Hey," He faced me and I cupped his cheek, "You need rest, and a whole lot more sleep. Don't stress yourself so much I know you're the lord of Phoenix Drop but you need to take care of yourself as well. Once you find Laurence and talk to him, go home and go to sleep. Anything else after that me and Malachi will handle." He smiled at me and held my hands in his,

"I love you so much,"

"I love you to," I slowly pulled back "You should go find Laurence, I'll come with you."

"Yeah, I should," He smiled at me "Lets go"

We eventually made our way to the old guard station, which is the prison where Nigel was being kept. Dante was outside and he came over to us,

"Laurence is inside, he was asking for you Levin,"

"Thank you Dante. Come in with us,"

We walked inside and Nigel was sitting in the cell, the door was locked and he was in a ball, his arms folded and his head in his arms. Laurence was shaking, out of breath and gripping the bars. We ran over to him, Dante was watching Nigel, me and Levin went to Laurence and I held his arm.

"Laurence what's wrong?!" Levin panicked, so much for what I said earlier. Laurence couldn't talk, I started putting things together. I had dealt with Shadow Knights before. 'Laurence is a shadow knight, if Nigels presence is bothering him so much then....' My eyes grew wide with realisation.

"WAIT- Is he.... is Nigel.....a.... Sh-shadow knight..?" Levin and Dante looked at me shocked. Laurence suddenly sprung back, Levin caught him.

"He's much more than a shadow knight.... he's direactly related to the Shadow Lord."

I know that this book doesn't really fit in with anything anymore, given where Phoenix Drop and where the story is right now but I'm still going to continue this book, if you think I should channge anything related to the setting, place or anything else, please let me know.
