Quietly I read the book , understanding and trying to picture the words happening in my brain. Whenever I read a book, it was as if I was , myself, was in the book.As if i was one of the characters experiencing the problems and feeling they would. Whenever i would read I had one rule.
No one should disturb me while im reading
I get really annoyed and angry.Once i was just about to read the answer to a mystery in the book and Soda came running in crazily , dragged me out to go meet his new girlfriend. The book flew out of my hand and somewhere . Yes somewhere. I haven't been able to find that god damn book , and the silly library doesn't have it. From that day on I have never let anyone come near me when im reading.
It was night when i decided to pick up a thriller i had been reading for a while. My girlfriend , Y/N , had actually introduced it to me and it was her favourite book , F/B/N . I picked up the book at sat down , getting real comfy and started reading. After a while i distinctly heard some talking but i was so immersed into the book i didn't really register what they were saying. I continued reading when i heard the door open.I didn't react.Continued reading.If they were wise enough they wouldn't of disturbed me. Unfortunately the door opened suddenly and a person walked in . it was my girlfriend.
"Hiya Pony!" she said sitting down next to me
I nodded my head in response , hoping she would register the the gesture but she didnt.
"Pony?" she asked gently.
"What?"
"How are you?"
"Good," and with that i continued reading.
There was a moment of silence before
"how was school?"
Starting to get annoyed i ignored her question.
"how was school?"she repeated eagerly.
"Good!"i replied quickly again getting really annoyed and angry.
She huffed and went silent again. I continued reading.
"Pony?," she asked again whispering in my ear. ,"ask me how was school"
Now she was getting on my nerves. I ignored her stupid question and continued reading.I felt her gaze on me and after a while i finally cracked it.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT! CAN YOU JUST SHUT THE HELL UP FOR A WHILE AND GET LOST . ARE YOU BLIND !. CANT YOU SEE IM TRYING TO READ!" i exploded out.She stared at me , her eyes getting watery.
"OH DONT START BAWLING NOW !!" I added loud enough to make her flinch
"I was just try-"she started in a small voice but I cut her off
"I DONT CARE Y/N I DONT CARE!" I shouted again emphasizing the words" dont care" .
She looked at me her bottom lip quivering and for a second,guilt rushed into me but it left just as quickly.
"You dont really care?" she asked quietly
"NO!" I replied
"So you wouldnt care if I told you that I got a scholarship to the college in New York and am leaving tomorrow?" she added
I looked up.
"can you go away , already?" i said ignoring her statement. She was probably just making it up to get my attention.
She stared at me for a while,then wiped her tears , stood up and walked to the door. She opened it but stopped midway.
Without turning she said "Bye forever then" and walked off ,, slamming the door.I rolled my eyes. Whatever.
**************TIME SKIP TO NEXT MORNING*****************
I woke up with my book on my chest . Obviously I had fallen asleep while reading. Groaning I got up and walked outside to the main room.Rubbing my eyes I looked around.
No one was there.Silence.
Confused I called out "SODA?! , DARRY?!" but no answer came.
I walked outside the house to the porch to see the gang walking towards me. I waited for what seemed like ages for them to reach me when I asked them "Where did you go?" They exchanged glances .
"We went to say bye to Y/N" said Soda grimly
"bye?" I said loudly , confused
Silence greeted my question.
"WHAT BYE?!" I shouted
"Y/N left for New York forever, she got the scholarship and is moving into the university there." blurted out Two-bit
I started at Two-bit.
a mixture of emotions were going through me.
Leave ..so quickly ..and forever ..that could not be true!
"She-Y-Your lying" I stammered through my anger and frustration.
"Why would we lie?" asked Soda .
He walked up to me and put a hand on my shoulder. " Brother its kinda your fault..she told us everything that happened last night.
Last night.....oh .....the thoughts came swirling back , her words echoing through my brain
"I..I-I I didnt mean-"i sobbed out but no one showed him any sympathy
Then Soda came close to him and hugged him in an embrace
"Its okay brother ..Im sure we..she'll come back quickly"
"QUICKLY? SHE'S GONE FOREVER!" I shouted , choking on my tears I stumbled back into the house
She's left me
She doesn't love me
I hurt her
I ignored her
I told her TO GET LOST!
You DON'T CARE ABOUT HER
The words were screaming in my head.
I fell on the couch and got out a cigarette , lit it and started smoking . She was gone forever. My love of my life.I closed my eyes and her beautiful laughing face appeared.
The tears continued slipping down my face.
