Laurance prepared himself for coronation. He was determined to be the king that his father never was. His hands quivered violently as he remembered Liutprand and Frankenfurter speaking in the town square. "He's already the spitting image of his father. How can we be sure his looks don't match his personality?" Liutprand had pondered. "I suppose he'll always be no more than a bastard, then." Frankenfurter replied.
He then remembered his late mentor's words. "You must motivate yourself, Laurance, for the legacy your father is going to leave behind is far from honorable. You are a fine lad, nobody could deny that, but if you let yourself be seen as flawed, they will see you as no more than a mirror to your father, no matter what mistake that it was you made."

"So do you, Prince Laurance Adalchis III of Lombardy, vow on your life the be loyal, brave, and kind to all members of your kingdom, from peasants to purgers?" Prince-Bishop Lanchasly asked. "I firmly do, sir." Laurance had responded, trembling uncontrollably. "Then may the Blessed Virgin look down and be pleased with you as a king. Long live King Laurance!" The room exploded into welcoming cheers, all eyes were on him. "All hail!"
