Chapter 1

"Celia," Kiara screamed her voice echoing throughout the whole castle at her personal maid who was preparing for her bath.

"Yes my Lady, what's wrong," she said as she turned to face the princess and frowned at the look on Kiara's face and indeed her thoughts were right, the princess was in a very bad mood and the day promised to be a long, tough one.

"Which day is it today Celia?" The princess probed, anger and annoyance evident in her voice as she spoke.

Celia instantly knew that the moment she had mostly dreaded had come, it was a Saturday morning and the princess had a milk bath every Saturday. How would she explain the fact that they couldn't get milk from the whole kingdom to the princess?

When she first came to work for the princess, Celia had been frightened by the thought of entering the princess' chambers every morning. Back then Kiara was only fourteen and as hostile as ever but Celia learnt to put up with her tantrums and her change of moods.

she needed to work to support her sick mother and provide for her younger brothers, she had to endure her no matter what.

"It's Saturday my Lady" Celia replied trying hard to keep her voice steady.

"Then why am I seeing water in my bathtub rather than milk?" Kiara asked her frustration growing at the lack of speech from her maid, had she gone dumb all of a sudden?

"My Lady, all the herds in the kingdom has suddenly been plagued by a disease and thus their milk has gotten unsafe to drink let alone bathe in."

Celia replied this time her lips trembling, the princess wouldn't take this she judged by the look she got from her.

"I don't care about the herds, just get milk from anywhere. I am getting a milk bath today and that is it!" The princess said throwing her arms in the air to show that the topic was closed.

"But -"Celia started to argue but the princess shot her a glare and she immediately stopped mid-sentence, silently praying.

"Darling what's wrong? Why are you screaming like that?"

the voice made them all jump and when Kiara turned she was face to face with her father whom she hadn't seen coming. The king Philip had heard her shouting at her servants and had come to see what had happened to his beloved daughter.

"Father, they are saying that they can't get milk throughout the whole kingdom and you know how that milk bath means to me," She said her voice softening a little at her father's concern.

"But honey, they couldn't find milk in the whole kingdom and you know very well that the nearest village is miles away from here, it would take  days to go and come back." "But Father-"She started to argue but was stopped mid-sentence when her father approached and touched her cheek.
