The growl shook the ground and Kiara felt her fear intensify in the blink of an eye, a massive lion landed in the middle of the clearing and roared again this time a louder roar shaking the ground and forest trees and more birds took flight; the wolves seemed to doubt but their fear won over so they took off followed by the centaurs.

Too shocked and scared to say anything; Kiara sat rooted to the spot shaking heavily, the lion approached and Kiara found herself looking into a pair of deep hazel eyes that reminded her of someone though she couldn't think of who. Before she could think anything else, the lion breathed in her face and she felt as if leaving her body falling to the ground with a thud.

When she woke up, she was in lying on a small four poster bed in a room, there was a bedside table on which sat a mug of coffee and a small bottle that contained a green paste; other than that the room was empty with no window or closet. She heard a soft knock on the door and hushed sounds behind when the door opened and a girl entered.

When the girl saw that she had woken up, she smiled and neared the bed and sat at the edge.

"How are you feeling?" she asked still smiling

"All my wounds are gone....h-how is it possible?" Kiara asked, feeling a bit disoriented and weary.

"See that paste there? It's the one that did the wonders anyway my name is Louisa" the girl said pointing at the green paste on the bedside table.

"Kiara" was all she managed to say, "I already know that silly; now drink your coffee before my mother comes and starts lecturing me about letting it cool" Louisa said.

With that Kiara decided she liked her and took the mug on the table and started sipping her coffee under the watching gaze of Louisa but she couldn't bring herself to feel at ease although the girl radiated warmth, she had millions of questions concerning last night and how she had reached the house, her last memory being the massive lion.

"Hum Louisa how did I get here?" she managed to ask trying hard to keep her voice calm and casual.

"That I cannot tell you unfortunately, but if you want you can finish your coffee and we can go ask my mother; she will be able to answer your questions" she replied still smiling with enthusiasm.

She finished the coffee in a single gulp and hopped from the bed too eager to get answers, Louisa helped her to fit into a maiden dress and they got out of the room and through the living room. The room was slightly bigger than the one she had slept in with a little wooden table at the center surrounded by four chairs, a kitchen stretched from the wall near the table and a small window just above it let in a significant amount of light to let her know that it was way past noon. The front door opened and an old lady entered in the room and smiled the moment she saw her, to her; she looked so much like Elisabeth and her eyes welled with tears.

"I see that you are awake dear, how are you feeling?" she asked in a motherly tone just like Elisabeth

"I am fine thank you" she struggled to reply suddenly feeling dizzy

"I suppose you haven't eaten since you left the castle? Go take a walk with Louisa and I will prepare you something to eat" by that she felt her spirits lift up; Louisa took her hand and led her out through the front door.

Kiara had never known that Elisabeth had a sister as the latter almost never talked about it, and now that she thought about it she knew so little about the woman that had cared for her for as long as she could remember.
