Guys this is my first story so please give me feedback, comment below <3
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I finish slipping on my clothes so I can head downstairs before my mom blames me for something I didn't do. Being an only child is quite hard and lonely, you get a lot of attention you wouldn't get if you had a sibling. But you know, that's not the case for me.
I fix my tight curls in front of my eyes and face so I wouldn't have to look at my excuse of a mother in the eye. I walk down the stairs slowly.
"Morning" my mother said bluntly. I replied with a nod. She scoffs, "Why don't you ever talk to me?" I didn't reply to that, instead I turned my back to her and picked up my bag for school. Her expression changed. "Jade, can we please talk?" "I am going to be late for school," I said back in the same blunt attitude she gave me.
I wouldn't be so cold towards my mom if she didn't lie to me, for two years I believed she stopped drinking. She lied to me! How dare she lie to me, I am only trying to help you! What the hell does she even want to talk about? The last we "talked" I was about to get sent to live with my dad. I would love to live with my dad but I can't, because Cole needs me.
Cole, my best friend from since we were in kindergarten. We have too strong of a bond to be split up.
When my mom drank she turned into a different person and I hated it. I've always wanted to know how it started, but I just cant ask now.
"Jade! its important." That's exactly what she said the last time. "Gotta go," and with that I walked through the door. I am a bit worried for my mother though she hasn't been looking healthy. But I mean its not like she ever does look healthy because she drinks. I practically live on my own. I walk up to my bus that is approaching. The doors of the bus opened and I'm welcome by the loudness of my rambunctious peers.
"Aye babe come over here!" Cole yelled to me. I walked up to the seat he had saved for me and slapped him on his arm. "Don't call me babe Cole! People are gonna think we date or something." "What's so wrong with that bae?" He said smirking. "Taking out the 'b' in babe doesn't make the word less meaningful you idiot and plus you have a girlfriend" I chuckled. "Whatever," he smiled. "Hey, Cole can I tell you something?" I say stupidly. "Your talking to me now you know." He said with a little smirk. "Ugh, any who, I think my mom is getting sick. But I just don't wanna to talk to her. She hurt me so much." "Maybe this is your chance to tell her all of this Jay," He puts his arm around me, "Or maybe there really is something important she needs to tell you." he finished. "Maybe."
We finally get to school and me and Cole walk to our lockers together. You see me and Cole have about everything together because I had bad depression. He was the only one who can make me happy.
His girlfriend walks up to us.
She smirks at me before she snakes her arms around his waist. I cant help but feel a hint of jealousy. She kisses his cheek and he looks up to her and turns to hug her. I should just walk away now, I already have my stuff in my hands any way. I start to walk down the hall. "Jade, where you going I thought we were gonna walk to class together?" he asked. "Nah its cool, you can walk with Amber if you want." I said trying to hint that I really want him to walk with me.
He didn't get the hint.
"Oh okay, I'll see you in class." I turned on my heel and heal and rolled my eyes. Okay, Thanks a lot Amber. Ugh, who can blame him, Amber is so utterly perfect. She had perfect long hair, perfect nails, a perfect slim body, a perfect smile, okay she's just pretty perfect! She just don't got the perfect attitude. I take the hair tie from my wrist and pulled my wild hair from my face.
