Today was the day of the firefighter family barbeque. Every family in the firefighter house was going to be there. We rented a park for the day which was going to be filled with tables beyond tables there and every single family brought something different that way there was enough food for everyone.
Mike's and Chace's wives came and got me early this morning for shopping. Honestly I could live without shopping but they insisted to take me along so I went along with them so I wouldn't have to live with all the comments I knew were going to come my way after they saw me kiss Sean's cheek.
"So Jackie, we heard about a kiss action from the boys." said Sara Mike's wife.
"Yeah, now tell us the deats." agreed Molly, Chace's wife.
"It was nothing. We were making it all up so the guys would think something was up between us so they would stop teasing me about it."
"You sure nothing is going on?" Molly asked as we arrived at the mall.
"I'm sure. I just went to his shop to tell him thank you and that his article was great. We started talking and then we went to the diner to eat. That was it, nothing more."
"Mmhmm." mumbled Sara.
"Why are we even here anyways?" I asked as we were walking to the entrance.
"You are getting a dress to wear to the barbeque." they both smiled. They both definately planned this.
"A dress? Are you guys serious? Me in a dress, that is really funny."
"You should also invite Sean to come. I'm sure he'd fall in love with you after seeing you in a dress." Sara said.
"Come on guys. You are just sounding like them. I don't need a boyfriend or to fall in love. I have enough men in my life." I laughed thinking back to every guy in the house.
"You know what I mean. You can't tell me that looking at couples in love, kissing, having a family doesn't bother you?"
"Yes I'd love to have a family one day, but I want to focus on saving lives right now." I told them. They were starting to get on my nerves.
"You have saved numerous numbers of lives. Maybe you're the one who needs some saving." Sara said as she walked ahead.
"Don't worry Jackie, we just want to help you. Plus she wont stay mad at you for long." said Molly as we entered a store that was filled with dresses. I thought I was going to puke at the sight.
"Sara, I'm sorry for making you upset." I told her as I touched her shoulder.
"I know, and I'm sorry for yelling at you. I'm just really emotional right now." she tried to smile as she touched her stomach. No way, she can't be preganant.
"Sara, are you-"
"Preganant?" Molly finished for me.
"Yeah." she nodded.
"Have you told Mike yet?" I asked.
"No. At first I thought it was just the flu, but it's been a couple weeks since my last period. So I took a couple tests this morning. Both said I was positive."
"Oh my gosh!" Molly screamed.
"Wow. I'm so happy for you!" I hugged her. "So when are you going to tell him?"
"I was thinking about the barbeque. That way we are in front of everyone and I just hope he's happy."
"Oh trust me, he'll be happy. I remember when he told me that you guys finally did it-" she gave me this look. "Sara don't worry, he only told me. Mike is like my brother, we tell each other everything."
