He paused, new pen held an inch above the blank white paper, red covered hand trembling with the effort of life. A single drop of crimson fell, disturbing and corrupting the white expanse of purity, like a sinner in the midst of heaven, it didn't fit in, yet it wasn't rejected.

Next to fall was the hot liquid pouring out of the teens eyes at an unnatural rate, it smeared the red and swirled into intricate patterns. He dropped the pen and watched the fresh ink drip onto the wet paper, mingling with red and salt. There was a thud as he fell from the chair to the ground, he screwed his face up in pain when he realized that his exposed back had rested upon the bloodied razor, but made no move to fix it.

"Save me, save me..." Tyler hummed this under his breath as he drove through the line of cars that muddled and murmured about being late and needing gas. It was 8:12 P.M. and somehow there were still lines and lines of vehicles piled on top of each other, impatiently creeping behind whoever was in front of them, forcing the front car to creep forward, forcing the car in front of them to creep forward, and so on and so on.

The brunette groaned and let his head drop onto the steering wheel. Today was not his day, his wrists ached, there was traffic on every road, and he had just been told by his boss that he 'might need a small break, to get back to being himself'. He had been emotionless all day and when a customer had asked for his help and all he said was "Okay." and returned to stocking shelves, the customer had been very unhappy with this and demanded to speak to the manager.

Tyler reached over and cranked up the radio in his car, which conveniently had his demo disc in it. He decided that today was a 'sing as loud as you can and ignore everyone else' day, so he jumped into the fourth song and sang along to his radio, unaware that his window was rolled down ever so slightly.

"I won't take much, of your time, I just want you to see, what I have made, inside these lines."

He started getting louder and more confident in his song, turning the dial to the right so much that his speakers nearly sounded scratchy. The car next to him noticed this and glanced at the driver, having never heard this song he decided to pay attention to it and look it up online when he got home. The man rolled his window down more to hear the song better and he started nodding his head along to the beat, green-brown hair falling into his mocha eyes, when he noticed that the boy in the drivers seat was singing along, and quite beautifully.

Tyler prepared himself to scream the next line, breathing in deeply and parting his chapped lips.

"So please, sAVE ME!"

The man one car over felt goosebumps cover his skin and he shivered all over when he heard the boy with the pretty voice scream those lyrics, he could practically feel the raw emotion in that voice, he heard it crack under pressure and he saw the boy start punching the rim of the steering wheel, he watched as the boys knuckles turned bloody and his salty tears mixed with the stinging pain. He watched as the boy clutched at his hair and tugged so hard that the man wondered if it would rip out under his bloodied fingers.

The man with green hair felt obligated to make sure this bloody boy was okay, so he leaned across the passenger seat and (despite his whole body being against this)
raised his voice a bit as he called out, "Hey kid! Are you alright?" the crying boy jumped in his seat and glanced around his car, he noticed the cracked open window and his face morphed into a look of pure shock and terror as he glanced towards the man next to him. "Hey, my name's Josh, what's yours?" Josh lowered his voice slightly when the boy with the pretty voice turned the radio off, the boy rolled his window down halfway and spoke barely loud enough for Josh to hear "I-I'm Tyler, I'm so sorry you saw that, I didn't know my window was down, I-I'm fine though, thanks." Tyler attempted a smile but it looked too stretched and watery to be genuine. Even though Josh was feeling entirely too awkward and anxious about this social exchange, he needed to make sure this kid-Tyler, knew that someone cared, "Look, I know that whole thing, you're most definitely not okay. But listen, your voice is really nice, okay?" Josh thought that he was stumbling over his words way too much, but they seemed to impact Tyler well enough, because his eyes widened and his jaw dropped open a bit, the green haired man saw tears glistening in Tyler's already red and wet eyes.

Tyler cleared his throat and shakily thanked the nice man, overwhelmed by the idea that someone actually cared about him.

Josh was washed over with the feeling that Tyler really needed someone to talk to, so when he saw that the traffic was starting to clear up he wrote his phone number down on a taco bell napkin and opened his car door, he ran over to Tyler's small gray four-door and passed the napkin through to Tyler, saying in a rush, "I know this is weird but if you ever need to talk to someone, please text me, I know I don't know you but I'm worried, okay?" he smiled slightly and handed Tyler the napkin. The younger one accepted this and looked up at Josh with wide and glossed over eyes, nodding as though in a trance.

Josh ran back to his car and moved forward in the line, getting off on his exit while Tyler drove toward home in complete awe of humanity. He glanced toward the clouds, and addressed the God who may or may not have known what just happened, "Thank you." Tyler whispered, he returned his attention to the road and thought about mocha eyes and sea green hair all the way home, not even bothering with the radio.

Woo! First chapter! I don't really have anyone to read over this and check for mistakes other than myself so if I screwed up the grammar or something i'm really sorry! I just really enjoy writing and I have a really big passion for it. Any way, thanks for reading if you did, I hope you liked it! ~Alin.
