I pushed the hefty white double doors open, feeling the sun rays dance across and gift a comfortable wave of heat to my skin. I turned around and watched all of my classmates run out of our university as they cheered. Some warriors did a few backflips while others kissed the pavement-the thought of germs clearly thrown out of the window. I went around hugging my former classmates and laughed along as we watched everyone's wild behavior. I decided to leave a few minutes later after a migraine hit after my constant laughing.

I jumped in my car and sending a quick text to my friends telling them I would see them later at the bonfire. My migraines were killer and would take a few hours to dispel.

Driving home through the woods, I felt a great weight lifted off of my shoulders. I was actually done with my years of training to be an official member of my pack. Due to our pack being one of the best in the world, we were required to go through rigorous training and gain knowledge of our jobs. All jobs including servants, housekeepers, guards, healers, etc. had a set of skills that required teaching. Also depending on your family lineage, your job was chosen for you such as being a Beta, healer, or royal servant.

So, if you were not able to excel in at least one skill to make you helpful to the pack, you had to leave. Fortunately, everyone has loved the pack enough to carry through the tough years.

Pulling up into my driveway I notice a foreign sleek black sports car, causing an uneasy feeling to form in my stomach. My mother, my sister, and I were the only ones that lived outside the packhouse due to my mom's post-traumatic stress disorder that arose after my father disappeared. Nobody remembers him or whatever happened and for a year or so after, my mother was unresponsive and didn't talk. It was as if she was just hollow or blank afterward..

My sister and I spent that time with the pack as my mom went through the process of losing her mate alone. And as the painful year passed, we returned to our mom and was surprised just to see her smile at us. She became a soft-spoken, nurturing woman who devoted all her time to her children. She was pardoned by our Luna when she couldn't return to her job as a record keeper and ever since, she never left the house.

I got out of the car and slowly shut the door but not enough for it to lock in place. I decided to go inside from the back door as I began to hear voices in that direction. As I walked to the back of the house, I heightened my hearing leading me to hear my mother's and a man's voice, through the open window. I tiptoed into the house, opening it wide enough to fit my small body through without it making a creak.

"I don't think you realize what a great opportunity this is for her." An unfamiliar voice speaks.

"It is not a great opportunity at all. How could anyone even think of this as such?" My mother replied agitated but anxiety rolled through her words like waves.

"Listen, she has all the traits I need to make a son. I've given your Alpha enough time now I'm getting impatient!" He shot in frustration.

One word could explain all my emotions and expression.

Shook.

"She will give me a monstrous Alpha that will be defeated by none. Nothing more nothing less." He concludes calmly.

I think the hell not.

"She won't. How do you think her mate will think of her? Her reputation will be destroyed and they will reject her!" My mother retorts, defending me.

"At the end of the day, she's been mine to have because she was shown to only me! She's the Elite and Alpha Steven and I had a deal."
