Roccos POV
As we were returning back to Indie's house, my mind was raging in utter confusion and uncomfortableness. Not knowing anything while the Alphas did-at least enough to be seeking Indie puts us at a huge disadvantage. There was no way that I would give up my best friend to anyone, Alpha or not. Scared of the answers more than the thought of potentially having to fight to the death, two questions continued to nag me.
What is the full truth and where will it take us?

As we headed into the house my wolf suggested checking the perimeter of the building. Romero began to be on defense mode as he was going to make sure we took all measures to keep her safe. Since Indie didn't have her mate or her father, some may say I've taken the role of being her number one male-figure to a bit of an extreme. Although it's not my place nor would I like to boss her around, I'm very protective when it comes to wolves and their distasteful compliments or even disrespectfulness (which is rare because she's such a sweetheart).
"Hey, I'm gonna go check the backyard I'll be back in a sec." She seemed confused but soon realized the reasoning behind it.
"Ohhh..... okay. Hurry back so I can bust your ass in Mortal Kombat." She said while opening and going through the front door.I then heightened my senses and stalked through the tall gate leading to the backyard. I scanned the deck, the hammock, the garden, and even the pool... You never know.
Looking past the garden and onto the woods which stretched on for a few miles my wolf decided they needed a fence. These woods are not allowed to be roamed alone as it serves as a gap between our pack and our neighboring one. I walked to the edge of the woods and pushed my sight, smelling and hearing to collect information within a mile.Birds....A rabbit..... A deer.... toes....A stream-
Wait, toes??My eyes snapped back straight ahead and watched a set of small bare feet belonging to a young girl, swish back and forth in a tree. A young girl sat on the highest branch of the seemingly 60-foot tree staring in the direction of the house. She had light porcelain skin, with small cat-like eyes and black wavy hair that fell beyond her shoulders. She seemed the least bit of evil or dangerous as I sensed no ill-intent coming from her. She didn't notice me staring as she started petting a random squirrel.
What the hell is a little girl doing in a tree petting a damn squirrel?
As I was about to find out, Romero warned me."She's not our kind, watch out." I nodded then broke out into a sprint, curious to who and what she was, and wanted. I was a few feet away until she noticed I was at the bottom of the tree she was occupying.
"EEEKKKKKK!" Her eyes widened, obviously startled as she stumbled to jump up and stand on the small branch. Nearing the tree her scent got more prominent which smelled of lavender and surprisingly skittles?
She found her footing on the branch then with a leap in the air, she vanished. I sat there in a moment of shock then shifted to climb the tree.
I got to the branch adjacent to the one she was on and looked to the direction that seemed to be survelliancing which was a direct shot to Indie's window.
Before jumping off, I snapped the branch she was sitting on and gathered as much of her scent I could and inputted it into my memory. Why would this little girl be watching Indie? She didn't seem like the evil type, she smelt like candy and was petting a squirrel for goddess sake. But, could she be with Alpha Troy even though she's not a werewolf?
I snarled at the new influx of concerns brought by this girl which have been added to the list of things I have no idea about. Making my way back to the house, I sent a small prayer to the goddess as I feel the urge that things are only going to get weirder from here.
