(The picture above is Adelaide, Indie's older sister portrayed by Teyana Taylor.)
I jumped up and ran after my psychotic friend while shouting his name. With immense speed, he turned the corner passed the gate, leaving my view. So much for him being calm. I was a fool, a clown and everything in between to think he wasn't going to go crazy-especially with my great and detailed storytelling abilities.
In the direction where the speed demon ran to, a high pitched yelp erupted and was followed by a loud thud. My heart began to race as I followed Rocco's path, through the gate. When I got to the front yard, I saw my best friend's body covering another body.
"What the hell Rocco?!" Adelaide shrieked shoving his 6'3 frame off of her. I took this opportunity to jump on him before he could run off again. Adelaide jumped up and picked up her belongings that were scattered on the ground.
"INDIE GET OFF OF ME AND LET ME GO." He snarled thrashing around under me as I held his wrists. I felt like I was riding those electrical bulls they have at the bars. He could've easily flung my small frame clean across the street but I knew he wouldn't.. He began to growl like a mad wolf which got Adelaide asking what was wrong with him, which didn't get a response. The front door flew open introducing my mom to the scene happening outside her house.
"Rocco, Indie, Adelaide, get your asses inside now!" She ordered all of us like pups. Adelaide rushed inside first and I was unsure of getting up and off of Rocco. If I got up, he was going to take flight. I'm glad he was way more cool-tempered than he was a few years ago prior to his Beta training. If this was then, his wolf would've tossed me aside like a rag doll as he tried to get to his target. My mom got instantly got the hint and came to my side.
Surprisingly with my mom's help which just included her scolding his behavior, we got him inside. We sat down on the couch and the air became tense and awkward. Rocco was still fuming and Adelaide was still confused. I didn't feel like repeating the story again as I began to feel uncomfortable. Even though this should be the last thing on my mind, this situation was all about me and I didn't like that. I'm not saying I'm shy, but I don't enjoy the spotlight. that was more up my sister's lane. She was a bonified extrovert and it was quite easy for her to gain popularity as she was beautiful and sarcastically funny.
"Someone better tell me what the hell is going on before I get mad." My irritated sister ordered, her cheeks becoming a shade of crimson while her nose flared. Even though she was 23, she was somewhat childish sometimes as she hated not knowing the tea, being left out and she was very stubborn in arguments.
My mother relayed what happened to her and she went ballistic as well. I cringed as my mother told her about how the Alpha treated her. I wanted to keep that part out to lighten the situation but nooo.
My sister became my mother's guardian at the age of 19 as she and my mother have a deeper connection then I could ever have with my mom. A big reason being that my sister was there for my mom's pregnancy and her depression when my dad disappeared. She did everything she could for my mom at such a young age including help take care of me when we couldn't live with her.
Adelaide was my ride or die just like Rocco, and she made sure the pack knew that messing with me meant messing with her, which scared people shitless. She was the top female in our first rank of fighters however she never flaunted it. Her skill was sometime challenged as her strength was not shown to anyone but the Alpha during her combat exam. After the test, she was ordered to never show her true potential. To my dismay, she and her mate will soon be moving to the royal palace due to her exceptional skills. So although I had faith in both Rocco and my sister, nothing would be solved if we just started fighting everyone. As it got a little calmer in the house due to my quietness about the situation, Adelaide tilted her head to the door and Rocco got the cue. Jumping up in a flash, they tried to make a break for the door but I wasn't chasing anyone again. It was getting repetitive and annoying.
"THAT'S ENOUGH GUYS, JUST STOP!" I pleaded in a strained voice, thankfully making them stop. They gave each other a look of defeat and reluctantly sat down again.
"We're not about to attack an Alpha three wolves deep. Rocco, I get you want to protect me but you're going to be the Beta soon and you can't keep losing your temper like that. Ade, be my older sister and help us think logically. Just calm down and tomorrow we'll PEACEFULLY talk to the Alpha." I was so ready to finish this hectic day as I instantly got my major migraine back. This was supposed to be a day full of cake and shit because this was my last day of school. But nooo, it had to be ruined with a delusional Alpha wanting to inseminate and ruin my life. All I wanted to do was lay down in my bed.
"Okay Dee, but if he doesn't refuse that so-called 'deal' I will challenge him." Rocco said sternly as he got up. His response was expected so I didn't give a rebuttal. That was something I wouldn't be able to stop so I could only pray the Alpha would break the deal.
"As will I." My sister declared looking spaced out most likely talking to her wolf.
After a moment of silence, we all decided to go to sleep, forgetting all about the bonfire I was supposed to be attending with my former classmates. Everyone retreated into their rooms while Rocco and I went to mine and the moment my head touched the pillow, I was out.
