His House

My mouth dropped open. I tried to say something, but I couldn't think of what to say.

Seriously?! My best friend is my other best friend's little sister. I guess I can see the resemblance now that I think about it...

Lola had the same big blue eyes and thick eyelashes as Victor, though hers were a paler blue, less intense. She had the same smile as Victor, but it was thin, almost sad looking. Her face was like Victor's, but overall less in-your-face. I heard the chime of the door and me, my mom, and my dad all said "Welcome!" in unison and I got up to grab the door and welcome the people coming in. I pasted a wide smile on my face as a family walked in, looking around.

I guess it was a good thing mom called me to come work. It actually isn't that busy, but.. Oh well.

My day was mostly made of chatting with Lola and handing out katsudon. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday.

I can't believe Lola stayed in the shop all day.

I checked the clock. Five pm. My god. It's almost time to close up the restaurant and open up the hot spring. Nobody was coming in anymore, so I was just sitting with Lola. I noticed her hands starting to twitch.

"Lola, are you alright? Your hands.." She looked down and saw her hands twitching. She looked just as surprised as I did, like she didn't even notice.

"Oh! That's not good. They usually do that before I have a seizure... Maybe I should head home. It's just a walk across the street after all." We laughed and stood up.

I completely forgot about her seizure disorder. What was it called again? It wasn't epilepsy...

I was about to ask when Lola fell to the floor, twitching uncontrollably. Mom and dad were cleaning the hot spring. I was all alone.

Oh god. Oh god oh god oh god. She's having a seizure! What do I do? What do I do?!?!

Then, all of a sudden, she stopped moving and passed out on the floor. I sighed in relief.

Thank god. She always said they were only dangerous if they lasted more than two minutes. And she always passes out afterwards... But what do I do now? Should I tell mom and dad? Take care of her myself?! Or...

I looked out the front window.

I could just bring her home.

I found my shoes and slipped them on. Then, I picked up the unconscious Lola in my arms and headed across the street. I got to the door and gulped nervously. I shifted my arms so I could ring the doorbell. I heard the chime travel through the house. I heard a faraway "Coming!" From inside the house. I waited nervously.

Hopefully nobody drives by. They'll think she's dead.

The door flew open and Victor was behind it with a smile. Then he saw I was holding what probably appeared to be the corpse of his sister and just stared at me, confused. I tried to explain before he thought I was a murderer.

"She was hanging out at the cafe for the day and she had a seizure and passed out. I figured that you'd know what to do, so..."

I could see the look of realization dawning in his eyes.

"Ooooh, I see." He smiled and reached out his arms.

Oh my god, is he going to hug me?!?!

Then he put his arms under Lola's back and lifted her into his arms.

Of course he was picking up Lola. Why did I want him to hug me OH MY GOD YURI YOU NEED TO STOP!!!!!

He nodded towards the door.

"Please, come in." He said with a smile.
