Just Another Guy's Story

I keep walking
Kick at a stone
Watch it skitter away
Kick it again
And again
Until I lose it in the street
I have no life
I'm a single
High school dropout
Who lives in his parents' house
I have no devotion to anything
Not my mom
Not my dad
Not my sisters
My brother
The only thing
I actually care about
My Baby
An acoustic guitar in sleek black
A birthday present from a life once lived
I play all the time
I used to dream about making a band
But who would ever want to be with me now
I'm too deep in myself
And I can't get away
I take my guitar off my back
Open the case
Sit down on a park bench
Tale it out
And play
I'm playing Carry On My Wayward Son
With my eyes closed
When I feel someone sit next to me
It's a guy
His hair cut like mine
Emo style
He tells me I'm good
And invites me over
His brother plays drums
And he has an electric
We play for a bit
I stay the night
We play again in the morning
Jack and Dave help me back to my feet
It tales awhile
But it happens
Then I find myself onstage
In front of fans and family
Singing and playing Baby
My girlfriend the lead vocalist
In our band
