Happy birthday Kitty! Here is my birthday present to you, I hope it isn't a disappointment :,). As you know, I don't ship SasuKarin but because we're friends, I have put aside my preferences to bless you with fluffiness. It'll be cliche but hopefully it won't make you puke (?) I'm typing too much, just ignore me and read.

Karin Uzumaki bowed her head low as she walked onto the bright, yellow school bus. Her eyes were downcast as she attempted to drown out the name calling, the cat calls and the paper balls being thrown at her. This had started during the first couple of weeks of her ninth grade year, and now she was nearing the end of her eleventh grade year. Why? Simply because she tried to fit in. She wore what the other girls wore and did what they did as well, however her pure personality made it hard to act the way they did, thus making her stand out. Karin was beautiful the way she was, no one could deny it, but as soon as she started to change herself, people began to talk. The clothes didn't look right on her, mostly because Karin was not comfortable in them, and the makeup never looked right, partly because of the makeup tutorials she watched.

Karin had soon given up, and went back to dressing the way she wanted to, sadly the damage had already been done. Rumours were spread and soon a girl and her gang of misfits came at her, accusing her of trying to seduce the head girl's boyfriend. Of course, none of it was true, but ever since that day Karin was known as Raven High's local slut, whore and any other horrible name they could think of. Who was the head girl? Shion Priestess, a beauty with a rotten personality. Now, Karin did have a few friends, some were on the other side of the world and one went to a different school. She was alone at Raven High, but wouldn't have it any other way.

Her friends on the other side of the world were Temari Sabaku, Ino Yamanaka , Tenten Hikari and Sakura Haruno. She had met them online, through an app called Wattpad and Karin was more than happy when she met them. Sakura and Ino were currently dating, Temari and Tenten were currently single and said that they wanted to stay that way for a while. Her other friend was Hinata Hyuga, someone she also found through Wattpad. Both girls were ecstatic when they found out how close they were, and immediately made plans to meet up. Hinata was a shy girl, who was also the heiress to her family's company, Byakugan corp.

Karin preferred to be alone, simply because she thought that most people you think are your friends, will eventually stab you in the back. She learned that the hard way, once all her old friends left her side when they heard the rumours. She had gotten a bad habit of hanging her head, which is what she was doing right now as she sat at the back of the bus, with no one beside her. Her self confidence had plummeted severely thanks to the bullying and harassment, which is part of the reason why she doesn't want her parents or the teachers to know about it. Karin was sure that a few teachers knew, however they chose not to help her. She concluded that it was probably because they believed the rumours as well.

      She suddenly jolted in her seat as the bus stopped, nearly face-planting into the seat in front of her. Karin heard a few chuckles from the girl's on the seat next to her's, causing her to duck her head in embarrassment.

"What are you two laughing about?" A voice asked. "I saw you both do the same thing."

Karin looked up at the voice to see a hooded, male figure. His hands were stuffed into his pockets, which had a hole in the left one, and his back was turned to her. She felt a blush come to her cheeks at the thought that someone defended her, so she ducked her head once again to hide it. A couple seconds later, she looked up again at the figure, only to see that they were gone. Karin frowned, she wanted to thank him. Sighing, she exited the bus to see that the sky had turned orange and red, colouring the camp site with an orange hue. She dragged her bags to her assigned dorm and pushed open the door, only to meet the shock of her teenage life. Her dorm was not full of the mean, cruel girls that Karin had expected, it was full of her cousin's friends and her cousin himself.

Naruto Uzumaki was his name, and he would've shared the same fate as Karin if the redhead hadn't told him he should go make some friends. Yes, when these two started high school, Naruto wouldn't leave Karin's side. He was terrified that he would be bullied for the birthmarks on his cheeks, so he stuck my his cousin's side for the first couple of weeks. However, once the rumours started spreading, Karin told him he should make some friends so that he doesn't have to follow her around all day. Ironically, he became quite popular with the girls because of his birthmarks, mostly because they mistook them for scars from fights.

"Karin? What're you doing here?" Naruto asked, smiling at his cousin.

"Hey Naruto," Karin said. "Uh, this is my assigned cabin..."

Naruto widened eyes, before his face took on a confused look. "Why aren't you in a girl's cabin?"

Karin shrugged. "I don't know, maybe they didn't have enough room?" She said, although she knew the real reason. No one else wanted to have her in their cabin, so the teachers hoped that her cousin would take pity on her.

Naruto thought for a minute before speaking again. "Alright, I guess we could set something up. Right guys?" He asked, turning to his three friends, Shikamaru Nara, Kiba Inuzuka and Sasuke Uchiha. The three boys nodded.

"We could head out to the campfire and let her shower and stuff first." Kiba suggested, staring at the red headed girl.

"Great idea Kiba! Is that okay with everyone else?" Naruto asked, everyone nodded once again.

With that, Naruto turned to his cousin. "The cabin's all yours Karin! See ya in a bit!" And with that, the boys were gone.

Karin put her bag down on an empty bed in the back of the cabin, before taking a change of clothes with her to the bathroom. After she was done showering, she came out and put her dirty clothes in her bag. As she did that, a grey piece of fabric caught her eye. She walked towards it and pulled it out from the bag it was in, also accidentally pulling out a notebook. She picked up the book and read the name on it.

Sasuke Uchiha

Karin placed the book back into the bag and inspected the fabric. It was the hoodie that the person who defended her was wearing, it even had the hole in it. Karin was shocked to say the least, she was sure that Sasuke disliked her as much as the rest of the students here. She smiled a bit, glad that someone other than Naruto thought she was worth defending. Karin then headed out to the campfire, a bright smile on her face.

"Sasuke!" A girl with dark brown hair called out as the Uchiha boy walked past, causing him to scowl. It's not that the girl annoyed him, it was because he had a horrible headache at the moment and her abnormally high voice worsened it. He was currently walking with Naruto towards the campfire, the blonde boy was hoping they would get a good spot. Sasuke, however, just wanted to sleep or be alone. He sat with the blonde for about ten minutes before familiar red hair caught his attention. Karin had gotten a spot all the way the the back, underneath a willow tree and right in front of the lake. Sasuke got up while Naruto wasn't looked and made a beeline towards the girl, hoping to stay clear of his fan girls. He successfully made it to Karin and sat down next to her, not saying a word. Karin looked at him for a second, before looking forwards again. Sasuke was grateful that she got the hint and stayed quiet, he was finally able to relax. He didn't understand why no one liked her, she seemed like a good person. A few minutes later, he ended up drifting off on Karin's shoulder, surprising the girl so much that she almost screamed. Luckily, she didn't. Instead, she smiled. Although this small event should mean nothing, it did, because this was the beginning of their story.
