I slowly wafted down Bourke St searching for inspiration. I notice that the street is crowded with homeless people, so I toss them some coins, which they take gratefully. "Hi" one said, and motioned for me to sit down next to them. "My name's Zara, what's yours?" Zara asks. "Sven" I reply. "I'm twenty-four" she adds about five and a half minutes later. I notice that Zara has beside her, three books, a phone and a pen. "Stuff to keep me busy" she says, noticing me looking closely at them. "What's your favourite book?" I ask slowly. "Fight Like A Girl, by Clementine Ford or Beyond Magenta, can never decide between them" she says, as she begins to stand up. Then, I notice around me, it's isolated. The whole dam streets isolated. Bourke St is never isolated, not at this time, anyway. "Surprising?" Zara says, reaching into her pocket. I take a step back, but she's already pulled out a gun, which she motions it towards a run down warehouse, which appears to be on the corner of the street. "C'mon" she says.
When I enter the warehouse, it's not how I expected it to be. It looked like only me and Zara are there, and she tells me to relax, and that no one else will be coming, but she tells me there are others. "You are most stupid, Herr Olsson" says a German accent. "My name is Jürgen, and we are here to give you, the, how do you say, ah.. the inspiration. Besides me that is here, there is Erica, Joel, Zara, who you have met, and I believe you are also familiar with Laurie Hart" he says. I gasp, as I see Laurie's face, she opens her mouth to speak, but Jürgen cuts her off "You needn't worry about the gun threat. That was just to make sure you'd ,ah, be here. I am not one who favours violence, Herr Olsson. You are in good hands, we won't harm you. We just have some ideas for your next book" he says suspiciously.
