Beta John's POV
From Alrik came to my office that Thursday afternoon talking about Chicago I had a feeling he knew something but was keeping it form me, at first i didn't let it bother me but lately it been on my mind for a while and I had the feeling I should tell the Alpha.
"Tori what is the Alpha doing right know " I ask my secutary " I believe he is in his office Beta John" with that said I took up my jacket and head out of my office towards the elevator the Alpha's office was on the fifth floor.
Bing the elevator came to a stop I walked off took the right and headed toward the door.
"Alpha" I said "Come in John" he replied, I headed inside his office to see a pile of papers on his desk and him looking fustrated. He was been like this since last year when he started dreaming about her we went everywhere looking for her but still came up empty, from days went on he as become more fustrated and angry sometimes I feel I have let him down.
"Yes John" he said didn't even look up "Well Alpha your brother stop by my office last Thursday to ask if we have search California for your mate I said no why he said it could be a good place to search or not and I wanted to bring it to your attention" I said glancing up at him he didn't even waver.
" John how many years have we know each other" he ask looking straight at me " Many years know I couldn't begin to count" I said looking at him wanting to know where this was heading " Many years know and your still calling me Alpha, even thought you are my Beta you are also my best friend so why not call me by my name huh" he asked with a smile, I smile also " Sorry it just this suit and tie I can't think straight, I honestly don't know how humans wear these everyday my wolf and I just wants to run free" I said, I heard him laugh it was a strange sound that I haven't heard in a while but it made my wolf happy to hear our Alpha laugh.
" Alpha Ayden do you want to check Chicago" I ask " Yes but John if she's not there we must accept that we may not find her" he said with a distant look in his eyes, " but..." I was about to say something but got cut off "But nothing this is the last search and then we're done, even though it hurts us we must accept we may never find our mate" to hear our Alpha say that brought pain to us, our Alpha his suppose to find his mate my wolf said to me I blocked him out couldn't answer his question right know " Ohk Alpha when are we leaving " I ask with displeasure.
" I want this done sooner rather than later we leave on Saturday get a team, the sooner we get this done the sooner I can get my wolf under control" he said through his gritted teeth, "OK Saturday it is I'll go gather a team" I walk straight out of his office with a frown on my face.
You could see in his eyes, that not only is the man hurting but his the wolf too, the Alpha was going to accept that he isn't going to have a mate thats not going to be easy. Living without your mate his like living without air and without air you can't survive. Chicago is our only chance and we hope it worth it no for our pack but for our Alpha.
With determination and hope in mind I make my way to my office to assemble a team to go to Chicago tomorrow.
