Chara's POV
I kept tripping over unfamiliar steps. I could feel my face turn red, whether from sickness or from Frisk as he brought me into a hug. My eyes filled up with tears for the first time as I closed them."Hey... someday..." I began as I pulled away from the hug. "Do you think we can come here again?"
Frisk's POV
I was almost about to cry. This felt like déjà vu. It felt like I knew she was going to die at any moment today. I had to stop her from death. At any cost. And I mean any cost. Meaning.... I knew what I had to do.☆☆☆
Chara had just collapsed. I felt for her pulse, she was still breathing. I picked her up and looked around for help. I hollered for someone to help. Anyone would do. But no one tried to help. No one listened to my pleas. No one even bothered to look.
[Hello Frisk Dreemurr] a voice.... said?.... Either way, I ended up looking toward where the sound came from. It was a man (pressumably) dressed in all black. Seemed to be a skeleton from his facial features and cracks in his skull. [I am W.D Gaster but please, call me Gaster]
"Hello Gaster" I said to him as I held Chara's unconscious body. "Can I help you?"
[No. I'm here to help you. You know of resets? Don't you?] Gaster asked. My eyes widened in shock. How does he know of the resets? I observed his features closely; he's a skeleton, maybe he knows Sans.
"How do you know of the resets?" I asked.
[That is not of importance right now. Sans destroyed your reset button, correct?] I nodded. I had tried to reset once before but Sans caught me in the act. [I am able to create one more reset for you. No one else will know except for you. Use it wisely]
I watched as a reset button appeared before my very eyes. Before I pressed it, I looked to Gaster who nodded before resetting. I knew what I had to do.

And that's how it was. Every time Chara wouldn't eat her food or pass it to me. I would pass my food back to her and made sure she ate it. She appreciated it. And better yet, she wasn't ill. Everything was going accordingly.
"Frisk? You haven't eaten anything. Do you want the rest of the pie?" Chara asked as she pushed the plate to me. I shook my head.
"You should save it for later. Besides-" I interrupted myself with my own coughing. I looked to my hand. It wasn't a surprise for me to see it stained in a crimson red.
"Frisk! Are you ok?" Chara asked. I smiled and nodded.
"I'm fine, don't worry. Just a little cough" I waved off. She frowned slightly. I smiled at her and stood up. Her face was filled with confusion as she felt me grab her hand.
3rd POV
Chara's eyes widened as she felt a warm liquid run down her hand. She looked down to see it was from Frisk's blood. A scene flashed through her mind. Almost like a deja vu but their positions were switched. He brought them both to the place Chara once brought them before in another timeline. Frisk smiled weakly and did the same dance he did with Chara in the other timeline. Another scene flashed through Chara's mind except with reversed roles.
"Frisk..." she said as she let go of him. "Why do I keep getting flashes of us... except I was sick?"
"Because... those were from another timeline. Where you were the one who got sick. Where you were meant to die. But I chose a different route" he smiled weakly at her before he fell to the ground. Chara's eyes widened. Frisk fell before her - almost in slow motion.
"Why?! Why would you do that? Why would you get yourself sick!?" Chara yelled as tears fell from her eyes. Her cold ice breath was ragged. Frisk looked up, still smiling.
"I did it for you" he almost whispered. His breath was slowing; it was almost time. The last thing he said before his final breath was:
"You're worth the sacrifice"
