Chapter 6- Getting Away. Again

Vox awoke to Aubri sitting on the bed looking at his hands fiddling with his thumbs. "Is something wrong Aubri?" He asked sitting up slowly rubbing his eyes and yawning. "Oh-..Vox you're awake, um. No nothing's wrong..." he said half heartedly as he looked away from his hands towards Vox. "Are you sure? Because it doesn't sound that way." Vox said scooting closer to Aubri quietly, he then hugged him close "you know you can tell me right?" Aubri sighed lightly and turned his body to face Vox "yes, I'm aware. Okay so recently I told my father that I...well I'm gay." Vox nodded and looked into Aubri's eyes "but knowing him I knew he wouldn't approve of it and now. He wants me to get married to a woman I don't know." He said a year coming to his eye, Vox wiped it away softly "but I don't want to marry her. I love you Vox, not her" Vox blushed and thought of a way to help Aubri. "Well what if we...ran away?" He said looking out the window "I-...I'm in. Let's do it, as long as I have you I know I'll be okay." He smiled and kissed Vox lightly.

Vox was walking down the halls of Aubris house with him, their fingers intertwined with one another's. "Uh so Aubri, where would we go? When we, you know, run away and all" he asked stopping slowly looking him in they eyes "oh that's easy...I don't actually know." He looked to the ground sighing "Aubri, it's okay we'll figure something out. I promise" he smiled pulling Aubris face up by the chin "o-okay Vox"

After several hours of planning and talking amongst themselves they had finally found out where, when and how they would run away. Where, an old abandoned castle several miles from the main city, when, tonight when the city was asleep. And how, they'd have to walk being they couldn't fly only several miles. But if need be they would return and flee the planet, again. "So Vox, are you sure you want to do this? You don't have to if you don't want to. I'll be fine here" aunt said looking into Vox's eyes, the look of hurt in his eyes made Aubri turn away. "Of course o want to do this with you Aubri, I've never felt like this with anyone but you." He said looking at the ground "okay. But know that my father will have search party's looking everywhere for me." He looked back at Vox then to his hands fiddling with his thumbs. Vox nodded "and when he does, we'll be ready, and hiding"

They had set off at dusk where it was light enough to see, but dark enough to stay hidden. They knew which direction they were going but just in case, they brought a map. Vox was walking when he felt someone hold his hand "uh, I may have left something out" he said softly "oh. What is it?" He asked curiously "well I'm sort of. Afraid of the dark.." he said a little tremble in his voice as he tightened his grip on their hands. Vox chuckled lightly as he kept walking "that's alright I was to...when I was a child" he chuckled again. "Not funny Vox!" He whispered not wanting to wake anyone, they reached the city boarders after about an hour of bickering and teasing. "Are you ready Vox?" He asked turning to him, Vox nodded and they started off to the castle.
