Ahiko went out the backdoor of his house and sat down on a chair with a book of his. He didn't intend to read it he just wanted his neighbours to believe he was smart and a nerd. His dad didn't care what he did on his spare time, everything was fine as long as Ahiko didn't do anything bad. Once he opened his book he started staring at a page and letting his mind flow freely. About three minutes later he became bored and looked up at his garden. His eyes gazed over the green grass until they landed on something peculiar. In the corner there was a creature laying in a pool of some sorts. Ahiko placed the book on a small outdoors table and jumped of the chair to then walk over to the animal. Once he was close enough he saw what it was, a beautiful falcon that was severely injured. The boy wondered if it was a real animal or a human in animal form. Ahiko lifted the birds eyelid and saw it's very human-like grey coloured eye, a human indeed. He did not even ask before he lifting the bird up and carrying it inside, for the poor person needed medical help wether they wanted it or not. The boy carried the bird upstairs into one of the guest rooms and layed it on the soft sheets. He left the room and came back with a medical kit of somesorts only to find the bird being human. The person must have turned back to normal while he was away. It was a girl with silver hair and pale skin. He stopped himself from looking at her and immediately started attending the wounds. Ahiko pulled up the girls shirt to reveal a wound, or a cut, on her stomach. He started cleaning the wounds but stopped when the girl made a noise that made it clear that it hurt, but she did not open her eyes.
"Are you okay? Should I call an ambulance?" He gently asked. The girl merely shook her head as a sign of saying no.
".. Which question did you answer, the first or second?" The girl lifted two fingers and Ahiko sighed. He eventually finished aiding the cut.
"Um.. by the way.. what's your name?" This time she spoke, she said he could call her En. "Alright, En. I'm Ahiko. Nice to meet you" He smiled. En begun moving and tried sitting up but fell down in pain.
"Be careful... can I ask what happened?". She had been flying around until someone threw something at her, she didn't know what but it cut her stomach quite a bit. "Geez that's horrible" He looked down and looked at some marking on her left wrist. "It's kind of funny.. you're a bird and I'm a cat .. by that logic we should be enemies, right? But, you seem like an okay bird." The marking on her skin wrote 009, he was curious but he decided not to ask about it and looked up at her face, she looked confused.
"Why would we be enemies?" She didn't get it and he tried to explain. "Cats and birds... cat eat birds.. never mind" He let out a sigh, then suddenly his dad yelled from downstairs. "Shut up! Stop talking to yourself!!" he apologised by yelling back 'sorry'. Ahiko then looked down and apologised to En and explained that his father wouldn't notice her, and that the only thing he noticed was the tv. The only time he'd leave the sofa would be to go to the toilet. Ahiko hated that he hadn't moved from there since Ahiko's mother passed away.
"Oh.. I'm sorry" Ahiko shook his head and said that is was fine.
"But ... you seem better than your father. You were kind enough to help me, a stranger, and I will remember this" She smiled. After she had recovered Ahiko led En back home and weeks passed until he saw her next.
