Horizon Zero Dawn

I was a proud girl born in the beautiful city Meridian. Yes that's what i tell strangers, i was in fact born in Meridian but more in the out skirts of meridian living under the wrath of the sun king vanoss. I was training my whole life to become a soldier but i was rejected because i was a woman. So I continued my live living in the outskirts. I was a pro at taking out machines. I needed the parts of the machines to sell to the merchants that way i got my metal shards. Now I'm sitting at a campfire eating some turkey that i just hunted. I heard some rustling in the bushes and instantly got my bow and arrow out. I scanned my surroundings and my eyes landed on some tall grass. "Come out!" I said in a little deeper voice to make myself sound angrier. "Easy easy" i heard someone say as he stood up with his hands in the air. I looked him up and down. He's not from here he is a Nora "Nora.." i muttered. He nodded and put his hands down. "I just have to get to Meridian" i looked around to see if he didn't bring any friends. "Well.. go on then" i said lowering my bow. He scratched the back of his head "i don't know which way actually" i sighed i looked around and saw that i had wandered pretty far from Meridian this time. I put my bow behind my back "let's go then, i'm heading there too" i started walking not caring if he was actually following or not. It was now becoming day again. "So are you from Meridian" i hummed "born and raised in the beautiful city" he looked down. "You sound sarcastic" i ignored his comment and decided to ask him some questions "why leave the sacred land" he looked at me " i'm a seeker" i laughed a bit "seeking for trouble? cause that's what you get around here" he smiled "i can handle some trouble" we had already been walking all day and decided to stop and rest at the campfire. I looked at him and noticed something on the side of his head. "Wait.. you have a focus" i said confused. He nodded and kept eating. "So what does it do" he looked at me "stuff" i rolled my eyes "fine don't tell me" he wiped his mouth. "It let's you see stuff that others without a focus can't see" i nodded "what kind of stuff?" "Stuff from the old ones, weaknesses of machines and so on" we decided to sleep and take turns keeping watch. As it was my turn to keep watch i wondered what it would look like to have a focus. I looked at him and started debating if i should grab the focus or leave it be. My hand reached out to grab the focus but was quickly stopped by a strong hand. I pulled my hand back as he sat up. "Sorry.." i muttered and looked down. "What's your name?" I looked up "y/n" i opened my mouth to ask him his name "Delirious" weird name but ok. The next day we started walking again coming across some machines but that was no problem for us as he was also a good fighter. We climbed on a big mountain and saw Meridian in the distance. "Well.. there it is" i showed Delirious. He nodded and looked at me "you aren't going are you?" I shook my head. "Why?" I looked back at the city and shrugged my shoulders. "Come with me" i looked at him "they didn't accept me as a soldier why would they accept me now" he grabbed my arm and started walking. "Because i have a meeting with the sun king" we eventually got to Meridian. I still thought this was a bad idea. "Stop!" The guard yelled. We stopped walking. "What's your business here?" Delirious took a step forward. "I have a meeting with your king" and showed the guard some piece of paper. The guard let us trough without even checking me. I was very nervous as we stood in the sun palace waiting for the king. "Delirious" vanoss nodded and then his eyes averted to me and narrowed. "What is she doing here" he said. "She's my friend" vanoss let it slide and they continued their business. Which i couldn't attend because it was secret information. I waited for delirious to come back. As i let my thoughts run wild. What am i even doing here i should be out there scrapping parts. I looked around and saw Delirious already coming back. "Vanoss got us a place to rest" i nodded "we'll go our own way tomorrow" i said. he gave a sturdy nod but looked a bit sad. We got to the place which was beyond beautiful, it was very spacious and had a big balcony with an amazing view. But then i noticed one king sized bed. "Vanoss must have assumed we were together" i laughed nervously. Delirious shrugged "never shared a bed?" He said as he sat down on it. I shrugged and walked on the balcony , i stood there for a good ten minutes and decided to go back in the room. There i saw the back of a shirtless delirious. He turned around "you're back" he stated and ignored the fact that he was shirtless. I nodded "i'm going to sleep early" he yawned and stretched. "I'm gonna go.. walk around" i said pointing to the door and making my way out. I walked around for a bit and checked out some merchant stands before walking back again. I got inside and saw Delirious fast asleep. I changed clothes and got in the bed on the other side and looked outside. I felt an arm go around my stomach and pull me closer. I blushed and acted to be asleep. The next morning i still felt delirious his arm still around me. I quietly slit out of bed and changed my clothes and put on my gear. I looked back at delirious who was still asleep. "Goodbye" i whispered sadly and made my way towards the door. "So this is how it ends" i looked at him again and saw him casually with his arms behind his head. I nodded "goodbye delirious" and looked back at the door. "You really want our story to end here?" He asked as i heard him stand up. "Cause i as hell don't want it to" I shrugged and turned around. He pushed me against the door. "Our story has just begun" he said as he pressed his lips on mine.
