Matthew entered the foyer before he began playing with his keys. He didn’t know what to think of Anne coming to one of these meetings while Addison was there or how Addison would react to her being there. Shrugging his shoulders he hear Anne open her door and come down the stairs. Greeting him with a smile once she was in front of him.

“Are you ready.” He asked handing her a umbrella.

“What is this for.”

“It’s morning and the sun is out. Your pregnant not invincible.” He chuckled.

He heard what sounded like smartass underneath her breath as she opened the umbrella and walked outside. At the end of the driveway a black Lexus sat running with a human waiting with the car door open. Once Matthew was near the boy bowed, keeping his head down as both of them entered the car. During the car ride Anne fidgeted with the seat belt and stared out the window at the tall building that they passed.

“First time to the big city.” Matthew asked her.

Without looking at him she nodded. “Yes I’ve never have been to a huge city like this. I mean London is pretty big but this is huge and so many blood types.”

He smiled. “Are you hungry again, you just ate.”

“Sorry it was a random thought that escaped.” She chuckled.

“Would you like me to take the underground route sir.” The driver asked “For the young lady of course.”

-He thinks I’m going to kill you- Matthew said in her head before responding to the driver with a nod.

If she would have been human, her head would of snapped off her shoulders. Bright grey eyes stared him down before glaring at the driver. Matthew gently patted her leg as the car stopped. The boy in the passenger seat opened the rear door, doing the same bow as Matthew exited the car. Turning around he held out his hand for Anne. To his surprise she took it and he slid her across the leather seating into his arms.

“I will call you when we are ready; Samuel.” Matthew said to the boy still holding the door. Without turning back he held Anne’s hand, leading her through the basement hallways to the elevator.  Matthew pressed the up button and the awkward silence began. Anne jumped as the elevators doors opened and followed Matthew through the dark halls to a set of office doors with his name on them. Matthew unlocked the door and turned to Anne before entering.

“My office is surrounded by glass windows but they are two way windows so you will not be hurt.” He smiled as he opened the door.

“Um Okay.” Anne said following Matthew into his office.  “Have you brought other girls here to kill.”

Matthew didn’t answer.

“I am going to take that as a yes.” She said sitting down on the couch as the door opened. Addison walked through the door a coffee mug in his hands. He stopped short once he seen Anne before giving her a smile.

“You have only been gone not even a day and already you have to see me.” He joked.

“You wish.” Anne rolled her eyes.

Addison sat on the couch across from Anne and offered her the mug he had been drinking from. She backed further into the couch with a disgusted face.

“That stinks.” She said “What is that.”

“It’s a mixture of blood and coffee.” He answered.

“No matter what it is it still stinks.” She commented.
