When I arrive at the gates of our kingdom, the guards let me through, bowing down as I pass.

"You highness," Glitch greeted. "What happened to your stallion? I don't remember we have a mustang."

A guard held out his hand to help me down off the horse, as Glitch took the reins.

"I guess I left with the wrong horse," I mumble. "I'm sure Winter will return him tomorrow or so."

"That shouldn't be a problem. How was Elysium? Where are the King and Queen, the Prince and Ronan?" Glitch asked.

"I left early," I said not meeting his eyes. "It was getting too crowded, they should be home shortly."

He nodded.

"Are you alright, princess?" He ask as I start for the stone stairs leading up to the palace.

I nod and left quickly.

Once I was inside I descend towards the grand stairs, I walk quickly, passed Keirran's room and to mine.

Slipping out of my dress, I put on a comfortable attire.

I head downstairs towards the library, the Iron guards lined up against the walls of the palace, looking fierce and protective.

I close the library doors, and then sneaked out of a window that was always kept unlocked, so me and the boys can sneak out on some nights.

Getting around the guards is pretty easy, I was quiet and sneaky.

I walked towards the Iron woods, and walked for a couple of minutes and climbed a tree.

Grabbing an apple on the way to a high branch, then I perched myself on there.

The woods were beautiful today, the afternoon sun felt nice on my skin.

Beasts and creatures could be heard in the distance.

The wind blew lightly against the leaves on the tree.

I stared out into the distance then, and I thought about what I said to my mom.

She's always trying to keep me safe, always on my ass, always wondering what I'm doing.

I'm not six anymore.

If she was so keen on keeping us safe, why didn't she just raise us in the mortal world where she grew up?

I know she has a brother out there, living.

He's mortal, no fey in his blood at all.

But I heard he has the Sight.

Oh just so you know, the Sight means he has the ability to see Feys in the mortal world. Some Feys wander around the human world all the times, along with goblins and creatures. But you can't see them because they put on there Glamour to make them invisible.

I wonder what it's like to live in that world... as a human, to only live once, to be free and not constantly watching behind your back.

No danger compared to Nevernever.

I hug my knees to my chest and rest my chin on top of my knees and watch the sun set in the distance.

I want to roam these woods forever, to travel and discover new things, to do what I want.

To not constantly have a guard next to me, to not worry if anyone is waiting up for me.

What if I ran away?
