A Couple of Days Later
I was feeling much better.
After days in bed and being fed by the Prince and having morning and night therapy; as in walking, I felt like myself again.
After I took a shower and changed into new clothes, me and Prince Dominick went to the dining hall to have lunch.
"Um, thanks for taking care of me," I said to Prince Dominick. "It wasn't part of the deal, but you still did it."
"I wasn't going to let you die... What kind of person do you think I am?" He asked in disbelief.
I looked down embarrased.
"The Forgotten Prince," I said. "You're... Your people killed many feys and you don't like me very much."
"Because thats how we survive," He said. "And you're not an easy person to get along with, princess."
"I can say the same about you," I admitted. "I guess we kind of started off on the wrong foot. I'm Suri. The Iron Princess."
I held out my hand for him.
"My name is Dominick. Forgotten Prince," He said shaking my hand, amused.
"I'll try to be more reasonable, if you do too," I said.
"Deal," He said smiling.
I thought about it for a moment.
"So...How are you alive then? I havent seen you feed off a fey," I noted.
"That's because I dont," He replied.
I looked at him confused.
"I'm half Summer," He said.
I raised an eyebrow.
"A story for another day," He said.
I nod and swallowed my food.
"So.. this might sound a bit odd, but a certain cat showed up a day ago in my chamber and told me a way to help you control your glamour," The prince said.
"A certain cat you say?" I ask smiling down at my food. "Did he happen to be extremely bored and sarcastic?"
"Yes," The Prince replied, his perfect eyebrows raised. "Do you know him?"
"His name is Grim," I said nodding. "I've known him my whole life, he's a friend of my parents. He always pop out of mid air or dissapears when he wants to."
"I see and so he told me we need to find a Fey name Jaede at the Goblin Market. He said she will help us," He replied.
"Oh, thats great," I said nodding. "Do we start soon? When are we leaving?"
"Suri, you nearly died, could you please give it a rest?" He said his voice hard. "Give it a couple of days---"
I was shocked by his anger.
"Why do you care so much about what happens to me?" I ask.
He didn't answer for a half of minute.
"I just do, okay?" He said looking away.
"Why?" I ask again.
My heart beating faster.
"You're going to be my princess soon," He said quickly than. "I have to care... And I need you well when you meet the Queen."
I nod, hurt.
Wishful thinking, I thought he actually cared for me, at least a little, like a friend.
