Chapter 3 : Samuel P.O.V

It was so very hard to her go but we really should go back to the others. Now I knew what was going on between her and Charlie, the tendency to rip Charlie's head from his body is a whole lot less. Though I still think it's a terrible idea that they would continue doing it. The wolf inside of me grunted approvingly. He also clearly disagrees. Now we were sitting each on the other side of the table with as much space as possible between us. I sit next to her sister who is clearly very interested in me. But she's happily pretty entertaining so she distracts me well. Though I could not resist occasionally sending Charlie an angry glare.

I introduced Nadya to Jacob who took the opportunity to say that she is forbidden to make Twilight jokes. He then introduces her to Lynn, his own mate after which I introduce her to our other two pack members.

Out of nowhere Charlie clears his throat. 'Shall we go and discuss things in my office?' I nod and stand up as I motioned for Jacob to stay. Charlie did this with his beta but beckoned Nadya to come along. He clearly already figured out about Nadya and me.

I followed Charlie, and Nadya follows me. I could feel that she was tense and I would like to wrap my arm around her and protect her from everything in the world. I go inside Charlie's office and Nadya closes the door behind her.

'What do you want to speak about?' I asked Charlie. 'About those loners.' 'They are large groups of loners and follow a certain wolf, a real beta I could not discover.' 'What does this wolf look like?' "Pitch and pitch black with red eyes and bigger than any other wolf you've ever seen, his scent is not to be missed...he smells like death.' 'Do you think he has a beta?' Charlie asked. 'No, he's not exactly the type to share his authority, he is much stronger than any wolf I've ever fought against, even I had no chance of winning against him.' I lifted my shirt and sow them the wound that clearly has been there for more than a few days. 'When did that happen?' Charlie asked shocked. 'On the day of the meeting, they came to our camp and I fought against him, as you can see I was not particularly successful.' When I looked at Nadya, I could tell that she had difficulty's to keep her inner wolf calm. I could only guess how angry she is now, probably using words not meant for a lady. I heard protesting wood and heard the wood snap. I saw how she had grabbed the arm of a chair and squeezed her hands into fists. The chair was not made to withstand this kind of violence, and it broke quite quickly. I could not help but send her a small smile. She is so very cute, especially when she's angry.

'After I lost consciousness they apparently pulled back, the next day I woke up in our hospital.' 'With how many wolves are they?' 'I do not know, it was all chaos, it was hard enough to friend and foe to keep apart.' 'Do you think they'll come to us?' Charlie asked worried. 'I do not know but I hope for you that they won't.' 'Anything else that I need to know?' Charlie asked. 'Yes, I want to take Nadya with me to my pack.' Charlie jumped startled out of his chair. 'That won't happen!' 'She's my mate Charlie, she explained to me your situation, but we belong together.' 'She belongs to our pack!' 'But also in mine, I can not leave without her.' 'Charlie, I've always said that once I'd find my mate, I would go with him.' Nadya said, but Charlie was too angry. 'I know, but damn Nad, what do I do now?' She hid her face away and I pulled her tightly against me. I felt a hot tingle down my spine cringe and I knew it was anger. 'Don't you dare to blame this on Nadya! She tried to stop and she warned you, she did this to do you a favor, now is the time to let her go!' 'Nad, you can not be serious!' I saw tears in his eyes and realized that he really cares about her a lot, and not just because she helps him. 'I'm sorry Charlie, but I want to go with Sam.' My heart jumped for joy while melted away when she called me by my nickname. I never even knew that I could be so enormous in love. 'If you're sure.' He sighed sadly. She nodded. 'I'm sure.'
