 Chapter 1

It's been a week since Charlie had become the alpha, and therefore I the Luna. It was a very uncomfortable week. Everyone treated me with respect meant for the Luna, but I'm not capable of being a Luna. When I try to make my sister to do something she laughs in my face and thinks I'm joking. No trace of a Luna in me, not even a tiny bit.

“We really have to go Nad, I do not want to come last!” I snapped out of my thinking and stared confused at Charlie. “Huh? What?” I asked gloomily. “The meeting, do you remember?” Somewhere deep in my mind a bell started to ring. “Oh yeah, I'm sorry Charlie.” Charlie turned and walked to the rest of the wolves that were going with us. “Ron, Dimitri, I want the two of you to go ahead in the car and wait for us with the bag of clothes.” Ron and Dimitri nodded and walked to the car. They were one of the few in our pack who have a driver's license so they usually do those kinds of chores. Of course, Charlie has a driver's license, and when everyone heard that I'm his “mate”, I had to get one, but not many more than those who I just named.

Somewhere in the bushes we got undressed and we changed into our wolf forms. It felt good to let the wolf in me get out; it's been a while since my paws could stretch! We started running all together. Charlie, Tom (Charlie's beta) and I are in front and the rest behind us. Everyone was happy to just be able to go full speed again. "Maybe we can find him today." My inner wolf thought. "I do hope not, not for Charlie and not for me." I answered her back. I hear her growl. She clearly did not agree with me. But if I find my mate it will make things enormously complicated. I really want to help Charlie but I'm not sure if I'm strong enough to stay away from my mate if I find him!

After an hour of running, we came to a clearing and I could already see our car. Automatically I started running slower and I stopped in front of Dimitri and looked at him questioningly. “A summer dress with high heels and a bra cup double D?” He asked with a huge grin. I bared my teeth and growled menacingly at him. I might not really be the Luna but I still have to behave like one! “Relax Luna, I was just kidding! Here are your clothes.” And he gave me a pile of clothes that I took in my mouth. I ran back to the shelter of the trees and changed back. As soon as I could, I put my clothes back on and I joined back in with the rest.

“How far is it from here on out?” I asked. “Not far now.” Charlie replied, and he beckoned everyone to follow. We walked about five minutes when I could already smell the others. As far as I could smell, there were two different scents, so two different packs. We came to a place with a lake and saw them sitting. Everyone behaved normally around each other, the reason for that is because it is neutral territory. Nobody owns this area so there is no territorial urge between the packs.

A large dark man stood up and walked towards us. “You are the last to arrive.” Charlie looked around and saw just like all of us only three packs in total. “Where are The white legends?” He asked. “They could not make it; there were complications so there are only three of us today.” Charlie nodded and walked on.

I saw children playing and jumping off the rocks and then make a bomblet in the water. A flurry of desire shot through me and I wished I could do the same thing and just blow some steam of, but as the Luna ... sort of ... I have to behave myself.

I felt eyes on me and I look at where the staring comes from. “Can you see it?” I asked. The man nodded, smiling. “Yeah, just fine.” “Do you enjoy the view?” “Yes, as mater of fact I do.” “I still have to ask you to stare at someone else.” “Why is that? You're not mated are you?” I swallowed a lump away. This question was to be expected. “Yes, Charlie is my mate.” “But he has not marked you.” “I do not believe in marking because you love someone or you do not love someone. Why should you have to prove it?” The man shrugged. “Because it's tradition?” “Then I'm just not so traditional.” And I turned back to watching the children play. "Girl, you're lying! Of course we want to be marked!” Yelled my wolf. “Oh, do shut up." I growled at her, I really do not feel like hearing a sermon. Of course I want to be marked, but somehow I was also wondering what the heck is it good for besides the special link that you get with your mate. “Luna, the meeting is about to begin!” Ron shouted at me and I tore my eyes away from the children playing.
