"Cassandra! CASSANDRA!" The groggy teenager opened her eyes to see her mother, red-faced from screaming at her. "Cassandra, that friend of yours has been waiting outside for you for 15 minutes! You wake up and get dressed and go to school, you hear me?" The teenager sighed and replied to her mother, "I can be ready in two minutes." Her mother groaned and responded, "You better be!" Two minutes later, the girl left her apartment and met her friend at her door. "Hey Leah," Cassie said. Her friend responded and smiled. On their way out, they talked about their homework, and teachers and friends. Right when they were walking in, a man on the sidewalk tripped and fell. Cassie looked at her friend and said, "Wait right here. I'm going to go help that man." She ran back down the steps to her school and knelt down by the man and held out her hand. "Are you alright? I saw you fall." The man took Cassie's hand and she helped him up. He then brushed off his suit jacket and smiled at her. He had kind eyes, brown hair, and a short beard. He replied, "I think I'm alright. Thank you, though. To show my gratitude, here's twenty bucks". The man handed her the bill and said, "Take it. The world needs more kind-hearted people like you." She took the bill and said, "Thanks, but all I did was help you u-" She was interrupted by the first bell. The man smiled again, but the bill in her hands, and closed them. "You should get to class," he said. She nodded and said thank you. She then ran up the steps and met her friend on the stairs and they walked in together. The man smiled and said to himself, "What a lovely young lady." He then started his walk to work again, this time stepping over the spilled coffee on the sidewalk.
